Reviews for Devil's Descent (#1382)

One of those games where you have to descend in an abyss controlling a flying tin can, and avoiding platforms and ledges.
The graphics are... descent [HAHAHAHAHAHAH. pitiful], the game is playable enough, with three different lateral speeds,
but rather basic and uninteresting, morever the pause after each death is annoying, and seems longer than it is because of an awful beep effect.
It costed only 0.99 £ anyway, so it wasn't a bad deal.

I kind of liked this little game. Little in the sense it's not complex in any way.
Barry Jones also wrote Valley of the Dead which is similar, but harder and trickier.
You basically guide down a spaceship down an enormous pit and avoid colliding with anything. You use two keys (1/0= left/right) and two other keys (2/9) to move faster. Check the start menu for other keys uses.
It's cute looking and plays well. The one thing I don't like in any game is the option to choose the level in which to start or a demo of all levels. What's the use in playing, then?

40 caverns full of amusement ! ! ! ! Some of them are tricky and devilish .

Colorful mini-game with plenty of charm , challenging and easy to master .

Not bad by any means ! ! 3,5 /// 5 .

It's another falldown game and this time it's done by my old mate Barry Jones, haven't reviewed his games in a while so when this came up randomly I thought I had to do this one. And it's a Barry Jones game which means annoying sound, I have missed hearing them, no wait no I haven't. Have to say, this was not very good, some of the gaps you need to get through are mean and you simply don't have enough time to react. Also the controls were off, you have left and right and three speed for each, slow, fast and very fast which uses two buttons together and this created a lot of confusion. Not one of Barry's better offerings, The Hit Man for instance is a far better game and I'd certainly rather be playing that compared to this.
