A pity this frogger clone plays so slowly (BASIC) because I really fancied the graphics.

As a game, this is just a very poor Frogger clone. Slow, sluggish, no frills and only a two lane road to play on. As a game, this deserves a rating of 1/5 or maybe 2/5.
But this is much more than just a game to me, and probably many others. This is the first bit of z80 typed into my Speccy that I could actually understand. This is the type-in game featured in the rather good "Spectrum Machine Language for the Absolute Beginner" by legendary Speccy game programmer William Tang.
What this game represents balances out its intrinsic crapness.

From Spanish Breakout to German Space Invaders to Australian Frogger! Well actually it's not really Frogger as you just have to cross your frogs across the road and that's it. Even if you get all five the game loops your score resets and you begin again. But some of the sounds and designs are familiar, that's because they were re-used for another game, that game being Horace Goes Skiing. So there you go the origins of Horace Goes Skiing came directly from this game, or please don't tell it's the other way round this came after.
