A great game by some of the same authors of 'Last Ninja 2'. Some levels are quite amazing, level 3 for instance wowed me as soon as I saw it. The blobs and bits hanging around are quite different from anything I've yet seen on the speccy. The game requires lots of practice, the keys have a few combinations that will need some getting used to. For instance, the fire key when pressed 3 times in a row, places you in a position that allows you to move up/down or perform head butts, this is critical to be able to progress in the game. Or you can also just press SPACE.
It has its faults like the total lack of sound (none of the versions I've played had any sound, including my old copy) or the slow movement of our characters and especially the slow key response, but overall it's a fun action game filled with puzzles and a bit of strategy.

4,5 points

I don´t understand this game ... the key disposition is weird , the aim is too complex and I don´t get it , I do not control the actions either -characters seem to act at free will- , the key response is bad and delayed , the movements are inconsequent , therefore ... where is the fun ?

Beside there is no sound at all .

Too bad , because the graphic aspect of Hammerfist is more than correct , the idea is quite original , but this game is almost unplayable .

Too complex for my liking ... :-(

Hammerfist could of been a classic if it wasn't for the controls. You'll get fed up of switching characters when you're trying to jump to a high platform or break a computer screen. The game's great fun when the controls actually work but it will frustrate you when they don't.

I always wanted to like this game, but it's so annoying with the character switching, and the laggy bollocks controls that it made what could have been a very original and interesting game just unbearable.

Here is a platform switch, OK on the platform, must vandalise a TV switch, OK broke the TV need to jump again, switch, OK jumped need to punch an enemy, switch.

Yeah it's pretty crap really, although I wish it wasn't, this game had so much potential, and I mean so much potential, and it looks fantastic as well. It's just a shame it's as much fun as being stung in the scrotum by an entire hive of wasps.

Never understood back in the day how this peculiar sci fi game works, but now that I know, looks like I can't stop playing it, tonight. After all, it was a Crash Smash (95%), a Sinclair User Classic (92%) and a TGM Star Player too (92%).
