I quite like this game, it's pretty straightforward to get into but there are issues with keyboard response, well it was 1983 after all. In spite of this I found some enjoyment in this.

Too repetitive to be fun for long . . .

2 / 5 .

With a name like this, you would expect something gruesome, and maybe in 1983 it would appear more so. I remember playing Friday the 13th and feeling eerie with the atmosphere, nowadays it makes me wanna laugh.

It's just a maze game, with collecting to do, while avoiding the nasties that will increased in number with each level. I played up to the fifth floor, and the maze remain the same. More nasties were added to the count and new ones appear as the game progresses. Counted 3 so far. The game itself is not well written, you get stuck easily in corners and that may mean losing a life.

In the end I felt some enjoyment playing it and I wondered what would come next after the fifth level, and that's exactly what makes a game addictive.

This actually wasn't too bad, I expected this to be worse. The gameplay is pretty simple enough but whilst I didn't have much problem with the keyboard response I did have a problem going through gaps because of the size of his sprite. I only got up to the 4th floor where it gets a bit insane with four enemies while you stuggle to fit through a frickin gap. But having said that my expectations were exceeded so well done House of the Living Dead for not being crap like I anticipated.
