Reviews for Lode Runner (#2912)

The first time I saw Lode Runner I was amazed by the small but smooth running of the characters.

The perfect levels and the extra cheats in the game allowed you to play further levels even if you couldn't finish it.

Combined with the level editors to make your own levels it's just a perfect game.

I simply hate this game. Stick characters running around a sketchy maze collecting yellow rectangles are not my idea of fun. I usually enjoy platform/puzzles hybrids, but I never could get any fun from this - too insipid and frustrating for my tastes.

'Lode Runner' has some of the most smooth movements I've have come across in a long time. The sticks figures, despite simple work wonderfully, and instead of cartoonish characters this prototyped men merge into the background and add a futuristic ala 'Blade Runner' strange athmosphere. It's true the maze could benefit with a little more variety in colour or details, but the purpose of the game is to keep running avoiding the purple me while collecting the yellow boxes, and I asure you wont have much time to enjoy the views.
Remember: after collecting the yellow boxes run to the top of the highest ladder you can find in order to step to the next level.
A very well programmed fast and frantic game, which requires quick decisions mixed with well thought out strategies.

I didn´t know what a great game I was missing with this Lode Runner for the simple reason that this title was not released here in Spain .

Lode Runner is a very well-thought game with many good things on its side to offer : it plays fairly well , it´s got a very original plot , it never gets boring , it plays very fast and the movements are very smooth and soft , etc.

It reminds me of Impossible Mission , but in an earlier era .

5 stars seem too few to reward this marvelous game from the early days of the Speccy .

The graphics maybe be extremely basic but don't let that put you off because Lode Runner is a great game that will have you hooked. It's more than just a simple platform game and will require some thought to get through the numerous levels.
