Reviews for The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants (#4513)

I bought this many years ago and wasn't impressed with it in the slightest, and many years later I'm still not impressed with it. Sure the graphics are really nice but the whole gameplay just feels like a let down and doesn't quite work. Perhaps the other versions play better compared to this, maybe I'm being mean to it, but I was never fond of this.

Really disappointing game. The plot was rubbish and the gameplay was as poor as poor can get. And you can't blame the Spectrum port either as this game sucks on ever format it was released for. I don't know which is worse, this game or current Simpsons episodes.

I'm not the biggest fan of marketing stuff derived from TV shows, Movies or Superheros, especially the one's with the high corporative nature of the Simpsons series, but I have to admit this is a heck of a good game. No wonder it was a Crash Smash and a Your Sinclair Mega Game, well maybe corporative money helped heighten the rating, who knows.

The early Simpsons characters are all well portrayed here. And the fun colourful background really light things up and if you are a night creature, you can always turn the lights out, although there's a specific purpose for that.

You can't complaint of things to do, there are lots, and objects to catch too, besides power-ups and help aids.
The game is long and filed with tasks but very addictive and full of fun surprises, even when ignoring them.
These Space Mutants may have invaded Earth, but the Simpsons took my Speccy by assault, and I'm happy with that.
