Reviews for Toobin' (#5325)

I was never really a big fan of this arcade game to be honest, but I actually like this version, its pretty good in fact. Nice graphics, good gameplay and excellent music from the great Matt Furniss. Definately one of the better games Domark released.

Float down a river on an inflatable ring chucking cans at anything that gets in your way. It's a decent conversion of an average game.

The idea behind Toobin is great but the controls are a pain in the neck ... !!!

3 / 5 .

This was never a great game. The controls were abysmal and caused the game to be a big frustrating mess. Sadly the Speccy version replicates that.

I think the game is awesome and the conversion is great too. Lovely sprites, sound and overall action. The controls spoil things a bit, but with a bit of pratice you'll get there.

An arcade conversion that probably made a lot more sense in the boardroom

Toobin' is a conversion of an unusual Atari coin-op where the player floats down a river full of dangers while riding ...an inner tube. Bizarre isn't it? Well, the game is all about collecting points while avoiding the nasties, some of which can be knocked out by hitting them with cans. It gets somewhat repetitive after a while, but the cartoonish and colorful graphics, coupled with some pleasant AY tunes on the 128K, make up for that. 7/10
