Re: The best YS/SU/Crash covertape item of a certain type

There’s a handful of games originally from outside the UK that might need a little thought about the category they go into. Eg. Dustin was originally released in Spain as a Spanish-language game; the only English-language release it got was on a YS cover tape. So it’s technically a re-release of a g...

There was a 34-year gap between Saboteur II (1987) and Saboteur: Deep Cover (2021).

Transformers (you play with a robot or a car)
Transformers also has you changing character during play.

In Xor you need to swap between two different characters.

You swap between different droids in Deactivators.

You can see the end screen of Gyron Atrium in ~30 seconds if you exploit a bug : Start the game and move the gun sight up about half way up the tower just in front of you. Take your finger off the fire button and move forward at full speed. When you crash into the wall you will lose some of your shi...

I wrote the author on YouTube (where he had only 2 subscribers), but he didn't respond. It seems the world record holding program is lost forever. It was not archived anywhere. I've managed to track down this page: http://borialabs.free.nf/chesskelet/ The snapshots page is broken but the snapshots ...

I was just wondering why there is no Chain Reaction on the list. Itis an official sequel to Critical Mass, but the game is most interesting because the 128k version has an "unplanned" easter egg. Due to a bug in the game, it’s not possible to hear the beautiful Jean-Michel Jarre tune, ada...

Dead cat 'Selwyn' was the 'beloved pet' which inspired the game Paws . The comment "Gremlin thought the game was inspired by the idea of acquiring the rights to the musical Cats , but let it pass" is probably closer to the mark given the pre-release reviews... https://i.ibb.co/1b8rmTT/ima...

I’ve also got some nostalgia of Son of Blagger, there used to be a small independent computer game shop near where I lived and the owner gave me a copy of Son of Blagger for free because someone had ripped out the colour code protection that was printed on the back. I never did manage to get the co...

Re: Good enough to be an Ultimate game?

I think there was a big discussion once about Knight Lore being written before Sabre Wulf (and Alien 8 half finished) and that the general consensus was that it was some Stamper brothers bullsh*t to add to the Ultimate mystique. IIRC (and I'm very hazy on this) something about key control layout an...

You can use a tool like tzxmerge or similar to combine them into one file, eg:

Code: Select all

tzxmerge -o fw_autofire.tzx ForgottenWorlds128KAutofireMod.tzx "Forgotten Worlds (1989)(US Gold)(128k).tzx"

Can anyone confirm the existence of a disk release of Gryzor? It's something I've yet to get concrete information about.
