Re: Z80 asm/disasm in Z80 asm, request

intermediate results: http://files.catbox.moe/rd2s9h.png assembler size: 752 assembler tables size: 443 sizes are without expression parser and label manager. i'm expecting the whole thing to fit into 2kb (math expression parsing can be quite big). even 2.5/3 kb is still ok -- it is not a big price ...

Re: FPGA Spectrum Project

thank you alot! i know how hard it may be to give a proper list of things to start with when you collected various random knowledge over the years. ;-) i did various embedded programming too, but never touched the hardware side. i know some theory, and know which side of soldering iron is hot, but t...

Re: FPGA Spectrum Project

by the way, could you recommend some free textbooks for those who knows almost nothing about fpgas? or, let me be more specific: i can program in asm for various architectures, so i know what bits, registers and such are, and have some rough understanding of how CPUs are working on a lower level. wh...

Re: Z80 asm/disasm in Z80 asm, request

yay, it is really great! by adding several i/o routines and very dumb expression parser (because it is using the same expression parser as the rest of the system) it correctly parsed "ld a,42", and even printed the generated machine code! of course, it is far from being usable yet, but it looks real...

Re: Z80 asm/disasm in Z80 asm, request

wow. recently, R.T. Russell's Z80 BBC Basic became opensourced . and it seems to contan full-featured assembler. i quickly scanned the sources, and they seem to be very well written. so i will look if i'll be able to rip asm module. stay tuned, i will report here if i succeed converting it into some...

Re: dsForth/TR-DOS

added floating point support (with ROM calculator), including full-featured float<->string conversions (using calculator routines, so "42E18" can be parsed, and "4.2E+19" will be printed. i guess we're very close to 0.2.0 public release. ;-) p.s.: don't expect the current development speed to stay t...

Re: dsForth/TR-DOS

thank you alot, PeterJ ! now i can post my hourly updates, and won't irritate people looking for a fancy new game to play! ;-) so, DTC is working, both optimiser and tracer were updated to the new code format, and the cross-compiler is fully functional again. i also implemented autocompletion in lin...
