Re: Are the YS writers still "around"?

I caught up with Snouty (Phil South), Teresa and Rich Pelley for a feature on Eurogamer on YS a couple years ago.
Couldn't track down those lovebirds Rachael and Gwyn though...

Re: Selling my very rare "The Spectrum Games Bible" book collection

Those books gave me my start in writing so blame Paul Johns!
I saw an advert in Retro Gamer offering 50p per review and by the time the 5th book came out I was writing mini interview led features as well.
I'm amazed they are that sought after.

Retro Gamer Issue 232

Image

I had the pleasure of co-writing this 40th Anniversary Special this month.
It's a 14-page celebration of the Speccy and the final two pages are interviews with famous or key Speccy people.
It includes someone notable from this very forum! :D

Re: Trying to find a game title.

I´m trying find the title of a game if anyone can help. It was a two dimensional game with the main character floating around and you had to squeeze through various gaps without touching the walls or edges. It may have been based underwater but cant remember. I remember it was a bit additive playin...

Sir Lancelot

I've just interviewed Stephen Cargill about Sir Lancelot for Retro Gamer. The graphics were created by Andrew Arnold, aka Arnie. As far as Stephen is aware, he didn't work on any other games. Interestingly, Stephen mentioned a completed game he wrote prior to Sir Lancelot called Attack Of The Mutant...

Re: Kung Fu Master

It's interesting the fact its a C64 conversion as the machines had different strengths so a bespoke version could have been good, as mr kung fu proves.

Anyhow, I'm speaking to David again this afternoon about another of his games, Tapper, which is somewhat better!

Cheers

I did make that remark at the end of the article - perhaps that was the undoing of it all.

For me, it was a very disappointing game. The original arcade is a great classic!

Another case of bad conversion is One on One. The C64 version was superb, the Spectrum version was... *sigh*
Thanks Juan!

I could ask Mike Richardson?
As a little aside, until I spoke to Mike for the Scuba dive article, I never knew that this was actually a conversion of an Oric original, created by Ron Jeffs who worked at Durell.

I've always wanted to write a feature on this, but could never find the winner online. Maybe I'll have another go, especially as I now know someone else who entered a game!
