Re: Goodbye,Z80

For all the tongue in cheek comments others have posted, sadness is my overwhelming emotion too. :( Z80s have been part of the computing landscape for about as long as I have. Yep. I actually thought the original post was tongue in cheek because of the "Water Foundry" thing. At least Fede...

Re: RIP F David Thorpe

Sad to hear. RIP. The gallery on that linked page is tremendous. He managed to get so much movement and life into his screens, true classics. It's impossible to pick a favourite. Pogo comes to mind, not because it was necessarily my favourite, but because my copy never went beyond the loading screen...

Re: New Game Creator

Agreed, this looks great! I'm also pleased to see it's cross-platform. Mac support is always the first thing I check, as so many tools are Windows-only (eg. MPAGD), or sort-of-working-with-Mono (eg. #CSpect). I'll definitely be trying this. For reference, if anyone's interested at all, I have some b...

Re: Bank switching issue

The bank switching is an instantaneous hardware switch so there's no delay. So, just the few instructions needed to switch banks then I guess? I was expecting a bigger speed penalty to bank switching. The game I'm working on (with z88dk) has music stored in one of the upper memory banks to be playe...

Re: I ❤️ Kosmic Kanga. Who's with me? 🤣

Really nice article, AlWo73 . Lee P There's definitely a knack to Kosmic Kanga and loads of people seem to find it uncontrollable. For instance, in the Sinclair User review: Controlling the kangaroo is rather haphazard and consequently zapping anything becomes a matter of luck as well as skill. But ...

It's been over a year since I posted here, and it's obvious that things didn't quite go according to plan. Unfortunately 2023 turned into a pretty awful year. Without going into detail, it's something most of us will sadly go through with our parents sooner or later. Fast-forward to 2024, I've been ...

Re: New Game: Nectar

Great work, Luny. Highly addictive and just a little frustrating! Do you reckon easy/hard modes would be a possibility? In easy mode, the nectar level wouldn't reset when you lose a life to allow a bit more progress. Also, perhaps a small delay after shooting an enemy before it respawns. As it stand...

Central Cavern 1724 That's very impressive. I managed what felt like an unbeatable run and got 1721, so where you managed the extra 3 from I don't know! I managed to shave quite a bit more off the first half come get tantalisingly close to getting back in front of the wind-up toy, but it's impossib...

Metalyx was a competent little asteroids type game from what I remember. Nothing outstanding but I was happy with it for £1.99.
