Re: Monitor de Codigo Maquina (+3)

Already preserved.

This utility was published on a tape on MicroHobby magazine #215. It never was published separately.

As a hint, most utilities by Pedro José Rodríguez Larrañaga were published on that magazine, as type-in or (in later issues) tapes.

Green beret.

Not the best, but surely the game I played the most. A second place would be Cobra, that is better but not as funny to me.

It seems a hack of Supertapecopier, published as "Copiador cinta-cinta para 128k" on Microhobby 207.

Re: Habits you have because of anything Spectrum

I'm the strange habit of looking above my screen from time to time. Why? Because I used to have a ZX Spectrum + (still working), a black and white CRT Thomson TV (I don't know what happened to it) and a big tabby orange cat (died about 20 years ago). Old times TVs usually had enough space to fit a c...

Re: Can a program add basic lines of code on the fly?

Yes. I had a program (from a magazine) that could add a REM line of a given length, so it is possible. But I guess you should use MERGE instead. If you have to generate a few instances of DATA values, you could include the lines pre-filled it with zeroes (i.e.: DATA VAL "000", "000&qu...

Re: Games with their own "Airwolf Wall"

First screen of Raid Over Moscow was another example. I think this made many people not appreciate the game better. I think that stage is easy... As it starts press down and make your fighter point at the door. When it opens, press up and go for it. It's hard to lost a plane doing that. The second ...

Re: Games where you control the environment, not the subject

There were some games for the Gunstick (i.e.: Guillermo Tell ) where you had to protect the main character, shooting the enemies on the environment. Maybe that's an early example of the dreaded "escort" missions on modern games. Does it count? Also, I remember (but don't like) some games w...

The message suggests that the problem is in the RAM used by the (integrated) video card. Looking at the schematic, it seems that IC130 and IC133 are the VDU RAM, but I'm not really sure.

Re: Today I learned about the Spanish 128K Spectrum

Wasn’t too impressed (for example, the keywords had to but typed in caps, otherwise they wouldn’t be recognized as keywords). When I was young, a friend of mine and I typed a database utility from a magazine. My friend had a Spectrum +2, and I had the old reliable Spectrum +. There were lines that ...

Re: Convert .tap files to cartridge binaries?

Another things to check: - The code must start at $0000. - ROM is not writable. So no self modifying code is allowed. - Also, when relocating the code you must be careful to no relocate variables. - What about IM2? If your IM2 handler relies on ROM contents (I=$3F), your ROM cartridge must have the ...

Re: RoboCop failed as a game...

I'd say it succeeds as a game, because it's fun. It maybe fails as an interpretation of the themes of the film, but I also don't think it was ever really trying to be one. And if it were, then it would probably have failed as a game. And a lot of the people playing the game probably couldn't actual...

I'm not going to say that all italian games are renamed/modified/pirated/hacked games, but I'd say that they were MANY magazines that published tapes that contained that games. This page preserves almost all the tapes and the games from those tapes, so I suggest anybody that finds an italian MIA to ...

For sure not, I've finished it a few times, without pokes, it's a very enjoyable game :D I don't remember if it was level 12 or 13, where there was an "off" tile followed by four "electric" tiles separated by gaps. I thought it was a bug, because there is no time to jump from ti...

I've just had another go on Sir Fred, and I can't get more than two screens in any direction, despite the game not actively trying to kill you . Re: Did you have your own TV/monitor when you got your Speccy?

2 years before my parents bought the Spectrum, we had a very old 19 inch black and white TV that was dying. My father bought another 12 inch black and white TV because it was failing too often and spent much time outside home. In the end, the TV failed, went to scrap and he bought a 22 inch colour T...

The advantages of NES on a Chip are: - Good games, if you get one with pirated games. The crappy handhelds and some others that had "new" games usually have bad games. - They run at full speed. Every game on that handheld shown feels slow. - They are cheap, very cheap. I bought mine for 12...
