Re: The best playable demo of a full price game on a YS/Crash/SU covertape: vote
I voted for Robocop. It had an exclusive feature that wasn’t found in the final release. You could make the falling bad guys bounce on your bullets.

Re: Special Criminal Investigation- A couple of poke requests
It might be my imagination but it seems slightly smoother without the music.

Special Criminal Investigation- A couple of poke requests
Yes, the disappointing follow up to Chase H.Q
Just wondering if someone could have a go at switching the music off to see if it would help improve the frame rate and if we could change the colour of the roads at all? Ta

Re: Game versions 48K vs 128K
Renegade on the 128k had an extra level, the bad guys would fall at and angle and bounce if you knocked them down at the edge of the platform or pier plus it had the throw move. These features were all missing in the 48k version. Plus it had AY sound & music on the 128k.

Always thought that there should have been a third game called “Work Daze” with Eric working in a factory or something.

Pretty sure that Ian Morrison didn’t work on the version of OutRun Europa that was eventually published.

Yeah that isn’t a bug. Kill the first wave who are on bikes and the the second wave (the bad guys watching) attack.

Just remembered, didn’t Continental Circus use flash on the wheels of the car instead of the wheels being animated?

Re: Games that made good use of FLASH
I added a few machine code routines to it when I found the listing in one of my mates old copies of Your Spectrum around 1991. I remember that I added a nice fade effect when it was game over and I added a title page which spun the text around in a cylinder style effect. Pretty sure I’ve still got t...

Re: Games that made good use of FLASH
There was an old type in game from Your Spectrum called Ground Attack that used the flash command and looked alright. Trouble is it gave the impression that you were moving forward even if you wasn’t.

Re: Transformers:redesigned
Yes, the M.A.S.K. games came to mind when considering a Transformers game, there's a lot about them that's highly reminiscent of Transformers. The thing I'm most impressed with (which no one seems to have mentioned) is the STUNNING audio. The vocal performances and effects are simply incredible. Th...

Re: Best Spectrum model to get?
I’d say that the grey +2 is the one to go for. Most compatible, it’s basically the 128+ in an ugly grey case with a built in tape deck.

My favourite game that Jim programmed is Midnight Resistance. Worst or most disappointing is Road Runner.

To everyone who is going, I’ve been informed that the Spectrum Next team will showing off a 1 level demo of Target; Renegade. Really gutted that I won’t be able to try it out myself so let me know what you think of it if you get a chance to play it.
