Re: Binni looks at Operation Wolf on the Spectrum

You have to press both the FIRE key on your joystick and the "3" key on the keyboard to start the game with Kempston joystick control. However, grenade throwing with Kempston joystick enabled seems to be bugged as well, grenades will be thrown and used up without any possibility for the p...

Re: Binni looks at Operation Wolf on the Spectrum

I can’t find a version of this that works on my Toastrack. I can’t select Kempston from the screen but all the other options work. I’m using a DivMMC future.

Raspberry pi / retro pie

I’ve searched the forum but can’t find any mention.

Has anyone experience building a retro console using a raspberry pi and retro pinto play Speccy and (cough) other systems’ games?

Is it really this simple?

Interface 2

Shame this didn't take off. It would have been a dream back then, buying your games on cartridge and loading them instantly. I never had one, but the cartridges were expensive weren't they? And only 16k games? Was it the cost of chips that pushed the price up? It would have eliminated piracy if this...

Mighty Final Fight

Don’t know how I missed this gem - but it’s awesome. Dare I say, even better than Target Renegade. Much more fluid.

Re: Random reset switch question.

Don’t worry, no chance of oversimplification where I’m concerned! And in my experience nothing is as simple in electronics is it first seems… One more question, if it’s push to make then what are you ‘making’ when you push the Speccy reset switch? I assumed that you would be ‘breaking’ something by ...

Hmmm. Thanks for the idea. Might just do that….

What do you mean by ‘push to make?’ Like ‘break’ is break the circuit?

You’re right. I spoke to Chris Wilkins at the Speccy 40 event over the weekend. No wonder I couldn’t find it.

Random reset switch question.

I want to take the innards out of a Spectrum+ and put them back in a rubber key case. Can I just snip the reset switch wires on either side of the capacitor/transistor thingy and it’ll be fine? Or do I need to do something else? Does it make a difference if it’s an upgrade or an ‘original’ plus? (PS...

Building a Harlequin from a kit - how difficult?

I quite fancy doing the above - How hard is it from a kit eg. from Byte Delight, for someone with little soldering experience?

Re: Specchum's read a book, pass it on.

Resurrecting an old thread, but Ready Player One by Ernest Cline is either pretty cool or intensely annoying however you choose to see it. The constant stream of 80s references is fun and the ZX80 gets a name check right at the end. Warning: put your brain into ‘13 year old schoolboy’ mode before re...
