Re: what's a good monitor program?
Hi, I tried Crystal Computing Monitor and Disassembler and downloaded 2 files, one of Crystal Computing and one of Sinclair Research. Both loaded into my Spectaculator and when pressed a simple letter command, like R for registers, the monitor crashes back to basic, stating: 5 out of screen, 0 : 1 B...

Re: what's a good monitor program?
Yes native zx monitors/debugger. I tried some debuggers in different emulators, but I seem not no to understand how I can simply put some code in a memory address and run it. Also register values differs like night and day in a emulater debugger and within a native debugger, I can understand it has ...

Hi, I'm searching for a good System Monitor program for the ZX Spectrum. I downloaded and tried many, some were so simple I only could enter addresses or data in decimal. The best one so far I found is SPCMON48 by Picturesque v2.1 It has the features I need, like listing the memory, modifiying it, i...

Re: basic question about overlapping colours
I had to look up UDG but found it and puzzled some time to create this larger ZX logo: https://i.postimg.cc/2111QKZ1/SPECTRUM.jpg I used "K"" to for my UDG and invert/normal printed each repeatedly, every time setting paper and ink. As you can see I printed 2 lines height for the logo...

Re: basic question about overlapping colours
Thanks for pointing me in the paper ink corner. I produced a very tiny logo like this: https://i.postimg.cc/1nSdM67b/logo-small2.jpg I do not understand the off coloured pixels in the corners, I suppose it has something to do with me setting the paper for every '8*8' square with this command: PLOT P...

basic question about overlapping colours
Hi, Trying some things in basic like drawing the ZX logo bars in colour next to eachother. I wanted them to connect to the sides as it should, but ran into a problem with overlapping colours, I read about that problem, why the Spectrum overlaps colours, if I remember it good it has something to do w...

Bright/Unbright keys in Spectaculator
Hi, I'm typing in a listing to learn ZX basic, and one of the lines requires a (K) command: Bright On my cheat sheat it says it should be on the special code + 9 key. And unbright under the special code + 8 key. Well, my spectaculator emulator does a lot but not produce a BRIGHT or UNBRIGHT command....

Hi, New user here, see me introducing myself on page 47. Re: Introduce yourself!
Hi there, My name is Martijn living in the Netherlands and I want to get to know the ZX Spectrum (My father had one in very early '80s) So I ordered a Harlequin 128 rev 2 diy large kit and a nice plus (+) case with membrame. Next step before everything ships in, I want to learn all about the ZX Spec...
