Re: Blasphemy! Your favourite C64 SID chiptunes...

I'm not personally a fan of how the SID chip sounds but you can't argue it was an excellent sound chip and there were so many great tunes on that system which sadly never came to the Speccy. One thing to note is that the two main variants can sound quite different, and even between chips of the sam...

Re: Guess the screen$

I searched for later original period games, title screens only, ordered by magazine score, then started paging back through from the end. I found Bronx on page 49 out of 101, and checked the credits on that one - was still on the no mag scores games at that point. Only took about 20 minutes in total.

Tuareg.

Had to do a lot of searching to find similar looking art style, then check all the credits and see if there was a match.

Prefer Cribbage to Gin Rummy, so that gets my vote.

Good to see the computer player plays quite quickly, and very nice card graphics.

Although I'm not seeing that image on the loading screen, and with distribution denied its a bit tricky to check :D
Super Trux it is

Scroll down on the Spectrum Computing entry and it's there.
Mobygames shows the difference between 48K and 128K presentation.

It is a driving game, but it's neither of those.

Re: Guess the screen$

It's from either the loading screen, or the game menu screen depending on whether it's 48K or 128K version.

Also this might be one of the rare games where the ingame graphics are more detailed in the 128K version, versus the 48K version.

Re: Super Chopper by SSS. "There is... another... Airwolf..."

Bit of a shame that there's only one level layout, and only one enemy mechanic, with just a graphical overhaul. Wonder if that's due to just getting it done as fast as possible once it was "cancelled" - could make sense if the graphics were already finished, but the levels hadn't been desi...

Nope.

Here's some more - I've (badly) removed the game name from top-left.

The gravity formula gave it away - first game I could think of where that might be relevant.
