One of my mates is still very close friends with Mark Haden who programmed Metal Army. Used to go out boozing with them back in the 90's. Mark also worked for with Follis/Carter at Gargoyle Games/FTL for a while too.

I spend 9-5.30 developing at work but tend not to do much with a computer once I'm home. However, about 18 months ago, and it was going on for even longer if I'm honest but I was basically ignoring it, I was feeling... spaced out for want of a better word after staring at the screen for a few hours....

I know it's strictly not all BASIC as I believe it uses machine code for the scrolling routines, but I believe the majority of it was written in good old BASIC - always had a fond spot for The Oracles Cave.

Oh, Football Manager has got to be up there.

I always like the old WoSF gradings - think I got up to Manic Miner. Be damned if I can remember what they all were though.

An obvious one could be the Elite ratings: http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Pilots_Federation, but personally I'd prefer something a bit more Speccy-fied.
