Music in Ultimate games

Good Morning. Lately I've been wondering why Ultimate never used polyphonic music in their games. In fact, I've been taking a look and it seems like in all of his games he uses the same routine for music. It amazes me, as Ultimate was always at the forefront of programming techniques. Does anyone kn...

Re: Work in progress - Power Blade - The next Sanchez blockbuster?!

I hate the scroll between screens. I cant play theses games. I get dizzy!!! In Castlevania at least it can be turned off. In the tape version, try: POKE 41413, 201 POKE 41491, 201 POKE 41569, 201 POKE 41681, 201 EDIT: The scroll can be turned off in Aliens: Neoplasma as well. For the tape version, ...

Re: Any Speccy games like Factorio?

Amusement Park isn't a million miles away from what you have in mind. And I remember some time ago now, Climacus was working on a railway managment game where you set all the tracks and other things in this way. @Climacus, do you still have this? Is it something to add to ZXDB as a demo? Sorry, but...

Re: The best Speccy game by Ultimate: discussion

For me, Underwurlde is the best (althought Ive played Sabre Wulf many, may times...)

Bubbler is a very good game, technicaly and playability (yes you have to learn how to move the ball properly, but it is very interesting for me)

Re: TIKI TACA

Objects work if you carry them. If you carry the bottle of milk, the mummy doesnt follow you. If you carry the skull, Hunchback let you pass the door (if you carry blue key), etc. Thanks, Climactus! I would have some more questions on you. 1) Is there only one object (the skull) which can be used o...

Hello!!! Sorry. I joined this group a while ago, but I had not introduced myself. Im Climacus. Im from Spain and I love Spectrum!!! I bought one in 1983 and I learned assembler in these days. Re: TIKI TACA

No. I wanted to program an isometric version of an ULTIMATE game. So I could use my brand new isometric engine. I though in Underwurlde (my favourite ULTIMATE game) but It seemed very complicated (I have not leave it...) or Sabre Wulf, but then I noticed that Atic Atac could be a very good game to ...

Re: TIKI TACA

Looks lovely, and fast. Nice job! Just curious, and this is in no way intended as criticism - was it influenced by the other Atic Atac isometric remake in production for the Vega(?)? Or vice versa? Or is it just great minds thinking alike? (Also - the clock seems to be missing its left edge in the ...

Re: TIKI TACA

This is great! Is there anyway to drop stuff like in the original? Every time I find a part of the big key in the original I take it back to the first screen, so I can walk around with just the little keys. Thanks. Sorry, but you only can leave/pick up objects in determined places. This is because ...

Cute graphics and catches the essence of any Ultimate game. Good work, @Climacus !
Its interesting. About the lift, it was a desperate decision because I hadn´t memory enought to put stairs. :)

druellan wrote: Fri Dec 21, 2018 12:04 pm Also! On the original Atic Atac, you always land over a carpet. That works also as an indicator that you can access that room via a trapdoor.
Very interesting!!!! Yes. Now I look at the map and can see that. Thanks!!!!

This is proper special. It looks like you've done the most onerous work, so I really hope to see it. The isometric turkey is a really nice touch! Is border whizz the finalised 'down the tunnel' effect? I dont know what effect Im going to use for trap and ladders. It depends on the memory free. It i...

Re: Isometric Atic Atac for Spectrum

Looks very promising! Is there any chance that you added more colour, even if it caused some colour clash? Seems that your objects on screen like doors, trapdoors, armours, bricks etc. are quite sparse and not touching each other so they could be in theory colourful. Well, I hate colour Clash in is...
