Re: WiP Raspberry Pico Microdrive Hardware Emulator

Hello Tom, do you intend to develope an onboard version "QLPicoMD" to replace the MDV1_ in the QL in such a way that an SD-card could be changed through the slot in the QL case (similiar to the SD-QL)? I have seen your Oqtadrive board for the QL, but the QLPicoMD would be much cheaper and ...

Re: WiP Raspberry Pico Microdrive Hardware Emulator

I have tried now the version 1.12t. The problem still consists, but the position of the not free sectors has changed. I checked it several times, the position of the occupied sectors stays fix. I hope you can solve the problem. On the other hand, a lost of 3-4 sectors is not really important. By the...

Re: WiP Raspberry Pico Microdrive Hardware Emulator

Indeed, I have checked it. If I use the FORMAT command from the IF1, then just 124 sectors are free (see picture). In contrast, if I use the GUI for formatting, then 127 sectors are free. I expect some timing problems.

Re: WiP Raspberry Pico Microdrive Hardware Emulator

v1.1 released with TAP copy added. This new feature allows you to copy the contents of a TAP file to a blank cartridge. It works with headerless files as well as normal and also strips out the autorun from BASIC files to allow editing, which you will need to do to get the files to load properly fro...

Hello Tom,
the buzzer could be a bit loader. Is it possible to adjust it? Is the buzzer driven by a transistor? Is a scheme somewhere available?

Re: WiP Raspberry Pico Microdrive Hardware Emulator

TomD wrote: Sun Dec 11, 2022 5:29 pm Do you have any thoughts?
No, not really. The name it is a bit long but it contains the essential informations. So, let us use ZXPicoMD.
By the way, Schottky diodes would save 0.4V HIGH-level from Pico to the data lines.

Re: WiP Raspberry Pico Microdrive Hardware Emulator

Thank you for the explanation. Is writing/saving despite of the diodes possible? No pullup (10k) needed? The diodes reduce the voltage only to about 4V. Does this cause no problems? No pullup (10k) needed? If the pico-lines GPIO0/GIO1 would be high in the resting state, then the load on the data lin...
