Re: ESPectrum 1.0 Released

I might be getting confused from the video (which is in Spanish, with I don't speak sadly) Can you connect a wiimote and use it as a controller? Yes but not directly, I use this adapter connected to the ESPjoy: https://shop.8bitdo.com/products/8bitdo-retro-bluetooth-receiver-for-the-original-sega-g...

Re: ESPectrum 1.0rc3

No stand alone emulator for Windows? There's a quick and dirty port to SDL done by David Crespo here: https://github.com/dcrespo3d/ZX-ESPectrum-SDL2 It' based on a now outdated version of ESPectrum and audio and video output and timings are not quite precise. It was made mainly to help with develop...

Re: ESPectrum 1.0 Released

Its a great emulator - I am using it too :) I think there is a joystick add on in the works? Tyvm Jbizzel :) Version 1.0 has a new joystick system that supports two joysticks of up to 8 buttons through ESPjoy adapter (which is a DB9 to PS/2 adapter sending ESPectrum special scancodes which will be ...

Re: ESPectrum 1.0 Released

@Eremus released version 1.0 of ESPectrum a few days ago. https://github.com/EremusOne/ZX-ESPectrum-IDF/releases I was lucky enough to get the Olimex ESP32-SBC-FabGL board from Santa, and found flashing the board really easy. I'm looking forward to the full documentation appearing soon. Hi Peter! G...

Re: ESPectrum 1.0rc3

What about adding keyboard to joystick remapping too? For games requiring extra keys like Z, X, for jump, grenade remappable to button 2, button 3 of modern arcade sticks like 8BitDo... That's exactly what's on the roadmap as "Joystick revamp" for 1.0 ;) https://i.postimg.cc/v42KR6fF/ESPE...

Thank you for making it.
Tyvm Jbizzel ;)

There are nice improvements coming soon for version 1.0: folder support and real joystick support through Antonio Villena's ESPjoy board.

I'll update as soon as we publish new release ;)

Re: How hard is it to write an emulator?

Hi! It's difficult to say I think. I can only tell you about my experience: I started to work on ESPectrum about one and a half years ago. I never had written a line of code for Arduino, ESP32 or similar platforms and the last time I started a C IDE was about ten or more years ago. Now, ESPectrum is...

Re: ESPectrum 1.0rc3

Hi again,

Habi has told us that there is no problem on his part and has explained that when he named his emulator, he realized that there was already a website called espectrum.speccy.org.

Luckily, the owner of the website also had no issue with this coincidence.

Regards!

Re: ESPectrum 1.0rc3

Great work, Tyvm :D but this is not the same thing as es.pectrum is it? That question was answered here, to an user with the same name as you, some time ago: https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=120495#p120495 because if they are different, I really think you should consider a dif...

Re: ESPectrum, the ESP32 SoC based ZX Spectrum emulator

Hi Peter, Great project! Tyvm ;) For the UK readers, please could you confirm this is the correct board from Olimex board that you mention? https://thepihut.com/products/olimex-esp32-sbc-fabgl?variant=42484410253507 That's the right board yes :) Are there any plans for English language installation ...

Re: ESPectrum, the ESP32 SoC based ZX Spectrum emulator

I just installed my Lilygo board with the video and info @ Github, @PeterJ. If you like you can also turn on CC with auto-translate. As the instructions in the video are only for the Lilygo and Antonio's board, I think the Olimex one needs different instructions anyway. Hi there! My teammate, David...

Re: ESPectrum, the ESP32 SoC based ZX Spectrum emulator

I like this project, really nice job. Antonio's offer is currently out of stock, Is the price of 39 eur with or without the Spectrum case ? Is it possible to load from an audio source, like ZX-Uno or at least pzx/tzx for custom loaders ? Thanks Pegaz! 39 eur is the price for the board only. With re...

Then give it a try, I'm sure you'll like it :)

Even if your board is a 1.2 version (older). ESPectrum runs on TTGO VGA 1.2 and 1.4 boards because it doesn't need PSRAM.

Hello! After a few months of work and preparation, and after presenting the project on Saturday, June 3rd, at RetroReal (Ciudad Real, Spain), we are proud and excited to introduce: https://i.postimg.cc/5Hvpx21G/ESPectrum-logo.jpg What is ESPectrum?
