Re: fossimon - an NMI based monitor for divMMC and esxDOS
Quick question Is it possible that, rather than bringing up a menu when pressing the NMI button, holding down another key (say, shift or symbol shift) when pressing the NMI button it could bring up the menu, or jump directly to the monitor? Having added the new NMI.SYS, it’s now an extra key press t...

Re: fossimon - an NMI based monitor for divMMC and esxDOS
The ma command works like that - any key carries on the dump where BREAK exits. I guess I could make the d and m commands work in the same way. Thank you for considering this change. As the listings pause with a prompt after 8 lines, I thought it might be easier just to take a null input (just ente...

Re: fossimon - an NMI based monitor for divMMC and esxDOS
A welcome tool, bob_fossil . Very nice. I appreciate that it has customisation features right from the get-go, along with the ability to save any custom settings with the “cfg *” command, so they become the default on the next activation. Key repeat is currently a bit keen for my liking. It’s seems ...

Re: Ubuntu Fuse: Full Screen Issues
I’ll just use Fuse on the Pi instead. I’m using fuse-gtk on a Pi5 and it’s fine for most Speccy stuff but as soon as I try to load a TZX file, fuse grinds to an absolute crawl. Mouse pointer starts jumping around and the Speccy screen borders (loading stripes) stop updating. Other apps still ...

Re: Retroleum Smart Card diagnostic v1.61
The documentation has been updated too, with v1.70 fully documented in docx and pdf format. Here’s the change log from the most recent download: Changes in v1.70: • Initial tests now run through the entire memory range under scrutiny before showing any error (ie: does not stop at first error). These...

Re: Retroleum Smart Card diagnostic v1.61
There’s yet another new update to the DiagROM. Other ROMs remain at the same version. DiagROM version number has been bumped to 1.70. After a cursory check, this seems to be more than just a visual upgrade. There are now RAM refresh tests and the keyboard and joystick test screen has seen quite a ma...

Re: A library of tap2sna.py recipes
This is odd. I just regenerated the 128K versions from scratch using the t2sfiles and now they work from the DIVMC Pro ENJOY on my toastrack 128K as expected (complete with the few frames {flash} of screen corruption as mentioned by jamesh ) in Fairlight 128K. However from the DIVMMC on the Harlequi...

I’ve seen this with tap images. This conversion corrupts the screen even more with each key press until the spectrum resets.

Re: A library of tap2sna.py recipes
Fairlight 1 and 2 (128k versions) load and run on emulators but not on real hardware.
Fairlight 1 just corrupts the screen and restarts the AY tune.
Fairlight 2 doesn’t respond to a keypress after loading, so the game cannot begin.
The 48k versions seem to load okay.

We should all visit the Lemon64 forums and start posting questions about the 64 Commodore!Journeyman wrote: ↑Thu Jan 11, 2024 6:34 pm People generally referred to it as the Spectrum without the ZX, of course, but often I'd hear people refer to it as the "Spectrum ZX", and it always filled me with rage whenever it happened.

Wouldn't want you breaking forum rules, now, would we.

Re: Switching loader for TAP file
IIRC, hold down the right Symbol-Shift when selecting the file.
This should give you the option to select a different mode in which to open the tap file.
It remembers the last mode selected per tap file and is why you need to hold down Symbol Shift to change mode.

Excellent work as always, Tom.
Thank you for your continued support.
I often wonder how many people bought a ZXPicoMD from you on eBay, but miss out on the additional functionality because they don’t visit the forums and so, don’t know about your optimisation work?

Re: Granada TV's 'Chip-In' computing show
Watching a few more of the episodes, the male crew-members (both on, and off-screen) were constantly making non kid-friendly remarks about “interfacing” with Jo, the female presenter and telling her how good she looked in her silver cat-suit. She was born in 1963 and would’ve been barely 20 at time ...

xelalex Today, I noticed v0.6.0 has been released. The release notes state re-flashing the adaptor is required. In episode 3, after playing a simple key-mashing olympic game on an Apple II, the presenter asked "I wonder if Daley Thompson could improve his performance if he had a go at it"? I wonder if someone from Ocean (within walking distance of Granada's Manchester offices) was watching? #FORESHA...

Re: Interface 1 + vDriveZX - recommendations
I’d call that a win. The vDrive’s sound board just emits a shrill and ear-piercing squealing noise. https://youtu.be/JwEAQimyPTI?t=934 With the correct slider adjustment, the Adafruit motor in the OqtaDrive sounds better. Too low though, and you won’t hear it; too high and the Microdrive will vibrat...

Re: Interface 1 + vDriveZX - recommendations
IMHO they just look the part. Other stuff looks a bit meh to me The reason ZXPicoMD won't fit into a real Microdrive case is due to the buttons and OLED screen, required to access the user-interface. If you want one which fits into a real (or re-manufactured) Sinclair case, the OqtaDrive is designe...

Microdrive: Number of free kilobytes stored after CAT
After CATting a Microdrive, is the number of free kilobytes on the cartridge accessible to BASIC?
I.e. if I CAT a drive from BASIC, can this number be stored as a variable?
