Re: 2 demos

Nice!

I'm entering the three demos into ZXDB: 'Unlimited Bobs', 'Music Time' and 'Parallax Demo'.
I couldn't find the release date for 'Unlimited Bobs.'
Do you know anything about it?

Spectaculator, SpecEmu and ZX Spin; my top three favorite classic emulators, and the ones I still use the most on windows alongside Fuse on Linux.
Never had a virus alert issue with any of them.

Re: In game beeper music

Dynamite Dan games case is easier to justify, because they have many and recognizable melodies (I added them to the list). In Jack the Nipper II is more tricky, because it plays mostly some escale notes and sound effects, but it has some melodies when you pick up some objects or you complete some a...

Re: In game beeper music

Head Over Heels plays short melodies when you pick up various objects, though there's nothing plays continuously. It's really just an extension of the sound effects. A similar case is the game 'Jack the Nipper II: In Coconut Capers'. It reproduces different music jingles associated with specific ac...

Yes, as already indicated, you have it available on this same website.
Despite being marked as beta, it can be played from start to finish without any issues.

Enjoy!

Re: Game versions 48K vs 128K

The hardware page flipping can be used to get better screen updates ... Is there any 128K game known to use this technique? It's quite common in the demoscene. I seem to recall that the game 'Navy Seals' was mentioned in an article in Microhobby magazine as using a double buffer with the page flipp...

Re: Game versions 48K vs 128K

I'm not an expert in hardware, but another advantage of the 128K models, in addition to the ones mentioned, is the ability to utilize the so-called 'Shadow Memory'; a memory bank pointing to $4000, which can be used for example, to create a double buffer and display smoother, higher-quality graphics...

Re: How big should new Speccy games be? 48k? Bigger? Release 2 versions?

I voted for option 1. Personally, I am indifferent whether it's developed for 48k or 128k. Even games for Pentagon 2048 with TS and GS support are welcome if the case arises. I was a user of the 48K, to which I have a special affection, but if I hadn't upgraded to the 128K +2A model in my case, and ...

But it will probably win anyway, for obvious reasons . Well, it looks like the game has not only nailed the parallax scrolling in the X-axis but also attempted to keep us scrolling on the Y-axis! It all depends on preferences. A true winner, whether it's for the gameplay or those, uh, extra features.

I was joking, playing on the Wisdom of Solomon cliche. We had 5 votes in the 4 group voting, and wanted to tighten it up a little for the final. 3 votes amongst 20 is a good balance, I think. As the votes aren't weighted, I wanted to be sure that we were only voting for options we really liked, and...

Are you saying you're not wise enough? Well, you know, wisdom does have its limits. I figured a bit of mathematical generosity could spice up the voting process.
