Re: ZX Spectrum Top 100 games collection (feat. 274 titles)
Has anyone compiled a Worst 100 game set? I'm tempted, just for the amusement of having them all ready to play. Does this site allow you to identify the 100 lowest rated games (from the commercial era), English language only? The only equivalent I've found is the old archived bottom 100 on WOS. htt...

Re: Cassette 50: calling all Sherlocks...
Is ther any info on the watches sold with Cassette 50? Here's what was said in the above article: "With sales of Cassette 50 finally beginning to dip, Guy hit upon another unique idea to prolong its life. “I realised at some point that Cascade had become a marketing company rather than a softw...

Re: First tape/games you got with your ZX Spectrum
The Dixons pack was one of the best, I remember getting it when I upgraded to a +2, however the play button broke after a few months. When i took the Spectrum back to Dixons to get repaired, they just gave me a completely new one with the Dixon’s Premier Collection pack in. So I managed to keep all...

I think John Smyth was responsible for a fair few of them, I did think Ray Owen did some but I sort of now think he did the nice loading screens. https://www.spectrumcomputing.co.uk/list?label_id=18136 (J.S) https://www.spectrumcomputing.co.uk/list?label_id=12080 (R.A) If they are John's, they're i...

MAD Cover Artist
Does anyone have any idea who the cover artist was behind Mastertronic's early MAD games? I always loved these comic strip style covers. https://i.postimg.cc/xcwcHg4m/2024-04-03-11-17-15.png https://i.postimg.cc/jLK15rsn/2024-04-03-11-56-52.png https://i.postimg.cc/zLLtMzk6/2024-04-03-11-57-38.png h...

Re: Unnecessary inclusions in games
About half the map in Rebelstar is surplus, like all of the garden, algae tanks and staff quarters. But it all adds to the game somehow, like giving the feeling that you are invading an actual place, rather than the map existing just to serve the game. Yes that's true, it made it feel like a living...

Re: Unnecessary inclusions in games
In Rebelstar, there's a lot of extraneous stuff that could have been used for other things like more weapons, objectives etc. Like you can mow the grass. Who cares! Or have a coffee, if you can be bothered to waste 3 or 4 turns mucking about with the coffee tokens. I did speak to Julian about it a f...
