Goonies!
I was going to to an unofficial tie-in simulator type thing as one of the next challenges, I'll make that announcement today.

Re: Cr*p Games Competition for 2018

Fortress is an interesting seeming game, but umm... how does the attacker win? The instructions do not explain :) I gave Plumbers a try. The characters are obnoxious and the gameplay is arbitrary. Crap! (Nicely implemented though!) I don't think it's possible to beat the computer, and that's probab...

Re: Introduce yourself!

Have you considered contacting the other organizer to propose a joint effort? A single competition with 2 organizers and duplicated reviews sounds better than 2 separate competitions with the same name. That would get my vote, and Bohumil's too I reckon. Could be a replica of 2016 when Simon Ferre ...

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi Einar, Thanks for the hints. Unfortunately, the competition was announced on the W*S forums and I was only informed about this (as far as I know, it might not be happening). I am not going to join the W*S forums, nor do I want to recoup my old account there so I won't know who it is to contact. B...

Re: Ways you can help with the development of Spectrum Computing Website

Hi @Shaun_B We are not using versioning at the moment. We have a copy of the site in a 'Dev' folder that we test stuff on (apart from when I forget, and test stuff in live and break it!). Seriously though, Git is a good idea if developers increase. Indeed. If I find some time (and you need a PHP pe...

Re: Ways you can help with the development of Spectrum Computing Website

Hi,

How is the site built? And are you using GIT for versioning (or something equivalent)? If so, you can have multiple people working on technical stuff at the same time :-)

Shaun.

CGC photo shop help required

Hi all, I'm looking for some help in making a "Crap Gaming Compo" Mega Game award logo, based on one of the Your Sinclair equivalents (except it'd be "Yawn Sinclair Mega Game") - if anyone is able to help then please let me know. For your time, I'm offering a bag of Monster Munch...

Re: Cr*p Games Competition for 2018

R-Tape - I couldn't get Speed skating to work, and I crashed 20 twenty times on the luge. Kweepa - Luge - yeah, it's tough! That's why it's the final event! ... Kweepa - Ah, bollocks, I sent Shaun an old buggy version of the game with the Luge impossible. Christ it feels like it's 2013 again! :roll...

Ah, bollocks, I sent Shaun an old buggy version of the game with the Luge impossible. Extra crap points! Here's the correct version: http://www.kweepa.org/step/csscgc2018/winterneurobics.zip Shaun, could you please update the version on cgc? :) Fixing bugs? What is this concept? ;-) I'll call it v1...

Re: Cr*p Games Competition for 2018

As I said on The Twitter today, I thought his Doom port was actually really good in the context, and even worked on 16K (without hi-resolution graphics of course).

I think I'm going to send Kweepa an advanced payment of Polo mints in anticipation ;-)

Shaun.

Re: Cr*p Games Competition for 2018

Maybe so but I wanted to keep it going (because last year's competition was a bit... stop... start) so I made several entries under my Donkeysoft label with this exact aim. With no news from last years compo, I decided to start the ball rolling but I don't have any web servers. Paul stepped in to he...

Cr*p Games Competition for 2018

Thanks to support from Paul Andrews and Retro Computers Ltd, we're pleased to announce the 2018 Crap Games Competition. We have our first entry already from Kweepa to tie in with the Winter Olympics (unofficially of course) and I've set the first two challenges, both of which are fairly technical. T...

My name is Shaun and I'm an alcohol.... sorry I lost myself there for a moment. I'm a former writer for Micro Mart magazine (and some other publications).
