Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion
I read somewhere else that the designer of the hardware ignored the concerns of people who pointed out a few flaws and recommended addressing them. Does anyone know if they were addressed? I don't know anything about hardware, so I don't understand the details. But it was something about the danger ...

Re: Best BASIC game?
Can we include games released in the past 15 years? The Bytemaniacos BASIC competition, for example, had a few games that impressed me when they were released. And wasn't there a game completely written in BASIC that was released just months ago? A good one, that is.

Re: ZX Larry (Leisure Suit Larry remake)
Nice to see something like this on the humble Speccy. I'm sure a point-and-click game such as Indiana Jones and The Fate of Atlantis (not the isometric one we got) would've been possible. I really like the graphics and the use of colour.
How hard would it be to implement a pixel-based cursor routine?

Astor software translated many games to Portuguese and released them with a Portuguese name.

Re: [VIDEO]50 Amazing ZX Spectrum Art Screens Volume 1
Nice video but there's a mixture of original game screens and remakes, olus some screens from the demo scene, without any reference to the source. Those not constantly involved with the online Spectrum community may be lead to believe the Batman screen, for example, was created in the early 80s. edi...

Re: Microhobby Cassette #1 (march 1985)
Thank you for this. I grew up in Portugal and had a cousin who had dozens of Microhobby magazines. I'd go visit him and spend hours reading them and appreciating each page and article. Compared to other magazines of the time they had (imo) better presentation and content. It definitely contributed t...

This is great! Does this mean there's hope for the Double Dragon remake? It would seem the most good modern Spectrum games have something in common: They were never discussed at length in forums before being released.

Why wasn't this amazing use of colour the norm back then? This looks great! Not just the colour, but the sprites too. Everything looks great!

New Alphacom 32 printer for sale in the U.S.
I never thought I'd need to sell some of the hardware in my Sinclair collection, but life is full of ups and downs, right? Price may be considered high, but that's what I'm hoping for.

As far as graphics, and it looks like they haven't been mentioned in this topic yet: Savage, Extreme, Dandare 3
As far as blowing people away: Thanatos?
I thought Voice Chess was pretty impressive, but I know I'm alone on that one. I was easily impressed back in the day I even liked Final Fight.

"There are two version of Barbarian for the Spectrum—a single-player and a two-player"
I had no idea :O
I watched the Barbarian remake clips. Couldn't the Spectrum also have a higher framerate remake, and maybe digitised sound effect samples?

The Great Escape flag pole. It may not be considered an energy counter but we all knew what it meant.
