Thanks - although the downloads tab only has 2.5. How on earth to you decipher what's going on on that page to download 2.6?

Vortex Tracker has also undergone a large number of improvements and bugfixes since this topic was created, potentially including fixes for the issues I mentioned earlier. It looks like a Delphi license is needed to build the project though. Yes - forgot to mention that I'm using Vortex Tracker 2.5!
