Re: Where any NES games ever ported to the Speccy 'Officially' ?

It's not originally for the NES, but Eric and the Floaters/Bomberman may be another one. This was programmed by Hudson Soft directly so it's as official as it could be!

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

I am quite pleased with the latest developments on the Next. All the things that I criticized were fixed, like the lack of ULAplus, no core source code, timings (still not perfect over HDMI, but better), etc. I installed the latest software version on my board (I'm a board-only backer so I had it fo...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

I'm a Next backer (board only, received it more than a year ago) and was a bit critical of some decisions, but the latest updates changed drastically my opinion. The latest core and firmware are great, they even added ULAplus (though it's not explicitly advertised as that) and some other great thing...

Re: Pacman's Revenge details

Hi! I'm reviving this thread as I managed to recover a tape image file of this game, from an old C60 tape with other pirated games.

I've already sent it via the ZXDB edit form, but I'm sharing it here too :)

"Sabotaje": missing author

Hi!

Listening to the last episode of the "El Mundo del Spectrum" podcast came to my attention that the game "Sabotaje" was written by Andres Manuel Garcia, the same author of "Sabrina".

In ZXDB "Sabotaje" has the author field empty.

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

It would be possible to run a reduced version of the next on the uno, for example, and such a thing might appear within a few days of the source being made public This already exists, but with an older version when both systems shared the same FPGA and it was called TBBlue. http://www.zxuno.com/for...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

I backed the ZX-Uno and that turned out to be spot on and got delivered to schedule. I still use it regularly for ULAplus games. The ZX-Uno is AWESOME. The team spent almost 4 years developing it and then crowdfunded it to make a production run. Also, it's really open source, so anyone can use the ...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

Do you think it should have been aimed more at the generic retro market rather than as a successor to the Spectrum, a machine that with the appropriate core "can become any of the old machines you used to love as a kid?" How does having a Spectrum-specific keyboard pan out if you want to ...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

I have the board since earlier this year and so far, it's a solid machine. I fully upgraded it (2 MB RAM, RTC, Wi-Fi) and everything is working OK. It lives inside a clear case from Retro Radionics (looks great!). The only thing that disappointed me is the lack of ULAplus, and only from "politi...

Lazy Jones. I never heard of it back in the day, but It's a cool program wirh some mini-games to play. https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/pub/sinclair/screens/in-game/l/LazyJones.gif I always heard a lot about this game but for the C64, played it for a while yesterday after seeing this post. Re: ZX Spectrum Next

Can you elaborate on the compatibility issues, and in what way ZX Uno is better? I'm interested because I backed a cased Next and was under the impression that it would be "fully" compatible. I understand that there are issues with HDMI, but what are the other problems? Hi Magnus (and Peg...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next

Just found this post. I have a Next board, it's great but I think a little expensive to what it offers. Bought a RetroRadionics case to house it. I also added the RTC and have a 1 meg of memory on the way. Pros: Great quality board HDMI output with sound OS browser with long file names support Works...

Re: Diamantes, a MIA?

Hernan, that sounds far more exciting the the home computer shops we used to have over here. Was the Spectrum big in Argentina? It was big, but behind the C64 and at the same level as the MSX, sharing the #2 spot. As I said, most computer shops here only copied cracked games, not only for Spectrum ...

Re: Diamantes, a MIA?

Not just any old MIA, this is a really good maze game! So LED Soft is the publisher, is Valente Computacion only the distributer? (not publisher #2?) I don't know for sure. Valente Computacion was a very popular computer shop, but it only sold pirate copies of games (originals were almost non-exist...

Diamantes, a MIA?

Hi! A while ago the user "Ezequiel" from the argentine Retrocomputacion.com forum rescued a lot of tapes from "Valente", a popular computer shop here in Buenos Aires. Among those tapes there was a game called "Diamantes" (Diamonds) which I can't find it listed anywhere....
