An impressive way to crash the Speccy?

Does anyone have any suggestions for a short machine code routine that crashes the Speccy in a visually and/or audibly impressive way, and returns it to a NEW state?

(and if yes, can I rip it off in my next game? )

Re: New loading screens by Andy Green

What if... Flashback was released on the ZX Spectrum? This is my mock-up screen. :D https://zxart.ee/zxscreen/border:0/mode:mix/palette:pulsar/type:standard/size:2/id:204098/ I agree with Ralf about the protagonist (perhaps all black pixels, refined and a bit smaller - more like Target Renegade) bu...

Come to think of it, the timing of a screen copy is going to be all over the place as it goes in and out of contention, so maybe that's not the best idea I've had... You're more of a perfectionist than me! I'd be happy with a (slightly clunky) nearly but not quite constant framerate. I think some d...

Crime Busters by Players, inspired by Namco arcade game Mappy.
Yep one of my favourites now and back in the day. Uncomplicated fun, great graphics with outstanding use of PAPER.

Re: Friday Quiz - backstories

While it could easily have been Horace goes Skiiing, Peter Shilton, Fred's Fan Factory or Mr Wong's Loopy Laundry, the answers is in fact: Sarlmoor :) Yep! That is one barking mad, slightly scary game. All done, drop me a PM if you've got an idea for a Friday Quiz™ and want to take next week's slot....

2 - Shadowfire?
Nope.

The game in question is very strange.

Re: Friday Quiz - backstories

I think 2 is too hard, so here's a bit more that at least hints at the game: Underneath this dead sun, beyond the surface lizards, beyond the tunnel of death, lay the biologic power generators of the evil Vard. The Vard, in all their hideous guises, had harnessed a colony of infant Zorr, and subject...

Yes! Though thinking again I always have the Amiga version in my mind, which actually shows what I assume is Captain Xod emerging from the static. I wish the Speccy version did that.
