Spectaculator - pause when focus lost
Hello there, I'm trying out the emulator, Spectaculator, and am wanting to know if there's an option for the emulator to automatically pause when the focus shifts to another window - like ZXSpin does. I'm sure I've seen this option before, but all I can find now is the option to pause when it's mini...

Re: Best opening sequence...
Hello there, I don't visit these forums nearly as often as I should and I just came across this thread by chance. Just for info, since early February, I've been Tweeting a little project called #ZXIntros where I'm going through every Speccy game and posting a GIF of its introduction (if any). I'm cu...

Do you know how many ......... appear in ZX Spectrum games?
Hello all. I haven't posted here for a couple of years, but thought I'd just let you know about a wee project I've put together. If, like me, you have some unexpected time on your hands and have always wondered how many bookcases/bookshelves appeared in Speccy games, then just look out for the #ZXBo...

Re: Spectrum game creators
I’ve finally managed to nab a rather rare Speccy game maker utility the other day, so that will be appearing soon.

Spectrum screen layout
I have a question. The Spectrum screen layout is well documented in books, websites, etc. but I’ve yet to learn WHY it’s the way it is? Why is it in 3 x 8 rows of 8 - it’s the same amount of bytes, surely. Is it some bit-manipulation reason that makes addressing the screen addresses easier this way?...

Book archive
Will you be featuring PDFs of books in the future? A year or two back I spent some time scanning Hewson’s book, ‘20 Best Programs For The ZX Spectrum’ (the sister book to 40 best machine code routines) and was about to upload it to WoS when I learnt that the site was no longer being updated. So, any...
