Re: Next after a year of ownership
I saw something a while back, a bit of code to but a background image into a game using next basic. There was a bit on a recent the spectrum show on youtube about using the next to put backgrounds behind spectrum games and add boarders with lots of colours. Starting at about 23:40 https://www.youtu...

Re: WOOT 2021 IS HERE!
So, Last Christmas Ever , then. Is it supposed to look like that? Was it originally written for a C64 or a PET or one of those other weird 'MURICAN machines that has hearts and spades and inverse brackets all over the place? I think I found the good ending. Although I'd prefer not to be reminded th...

Re: WOOT 2021 IS HERE!
it kept giving a loading error right at the end. I have tried loading a sound file using one of those mp3 players built in a cassette. I found that loading would fail right at the end. I found editing a short bit of silence onto the end of the sound file that was generated from the tap file gave mu...

Re: ZX Spectrum games reviewed by Willie Rushton and midlands children in 1983
I have very strong memories of watching Micro Live. And although I don't remember this show. The main male presenter felt familiar. So I looked him up as maybe I saw him in something else. I probably recognise him from Jigsaw. Adrian Hedley is only the flippin creator and performer of NOSEYBONK !!! ...

Re: New online emulator RAZE (100% written in Rust, Open Source, MIT license)
Oh wow! I was just writing to request an onscreen d pad as a feature. when I realised you already have it! But it only appears on the page when I'm on android. Not on a PC. Which makes sense. I would like the option to have the d pad and fire either side of the screen when in landscape mode. I've wa...

Re: Any good examples of 3D vector programming?
This is for the BBC not Spectrum, but this site about Elite has lots of well written explanations of all the routines.
For example there's one on back face culling. And one on drawing the ships to screen.

Re: Works fine in emulator; fails on real Speccy
are you using an sd card reader to load the file onto the real spectrum? i was using last k to do keyboard input. but switched to a method more like this. last k is 23560 but you want the more fiddly Multiple Key-presses section https://chuntey.wordpress.com/2012/12/19/how-to-write-zx-spectrum-games...

I did very badly on the quiz 005% . But I did get Street Hassle right! Because the cover art is by Jamie Hewlett.

Re: What are your current ZX Spectrum projects/games that you are working on?
I like the look of your ATTR animations. I've been looking at something similar, but I didn't use background chars like that. It gives it a haywire appearance that adds to it. It sounds like you're busy, but if you ever found time to submit a demo to this year's Woot Tape Magazine it would be very ...

Re: What are your current ZX Spectrum projects/games that you are working on?
Eek! It's been kind of a year since my first spectrum release. My follow up is also multiple choice interactive fiction. It's got a wrestler who encounters a UFO belonging to Dracula whilst on his way to the opening ceremony of a jumble sale. I got the first chapter playable in the summer. I'm going...

presumably the illustrators worked on other titles by the same publisher. or at least generally the magazine publishing machinery was bent to fit publishing listings. i think the magazine illustrations worked the way cover illustrations do. i remember typing in a mining game where you collected aste...

Clicky click's dungeon, downloadable tap available via donation or not
Clicky click's dungeon of hand drawn computer graphics Clicky click the dolphin has found a coffee shop where they can show their artwork. The only problem is that the coffee shop is in a working dungeon! It's a short multiple choice interactive text jobber. there's a browser version. or you can scr...
