Re: Guess the screen$
I'm guessing something post-1990, due to the quality of the graphics.

It might be quite good fun to try and identify a Speccy game for each one.

Slightly Incorrect Instructions for Voyage into the Unknown
I'm not sure if or how this is fixable, and/or if I've posted this in the wrong forum, but I've just noticed that the instructions for Voyage into the Unknown (taken from the old Spectrum Games Database entry written yonks ago at ) say that it received a Crash score of 9/10, when in fact it was 9%. ...

Re: Lara Croft voted most iconic character ever
I think, like a lot of these "what were the best", a lot of it is cognitive bias. If you played a particular game or read a particular mag or hang around particular websites, it's very easy to assume everyone else in the world thinks the same thing. Having literally only played 4 of the ga...

Re: Starglider being used to gunge children on telly in 1987
From what I hear of Barcadia, you have to pay £10 for a bunch of American quarters, which gets you about 10 goes on the arcade machines, it's also located on probably the worst street for dealing with drunk clubbing types. Meanwhile, five minutes away there is an arcade in the mall which, for the p...

STM32 Bot
In reference to this (rightly) locked thread at https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11222 I've just done a google, and there is bot software called STM32. (Apologies if this was blindingly obvious and/or has already been posted by someone). https://github.com/u2man/stm32-telegram-...

Re: DenOfGeek : The games that defined the Spectrum
For me one of the games that defines the Speccy is Wanted:Monty Mole. I know it was multi-platform but when it was released it was one of the games that everyone wanted (pun fully intended). At the local computer club our 1hr allotted time in the high cool canteen was spent making as many copies of...

Re: DenOfGeek : The games that defined the Spectrum
If we are talking about iconic rather than best, I'd remove Chaos. It only seems to have found fame after the Spectrum era ended, into the emulator age. I was aware of it thanks to the review in the adventure section of Crash, but I never saw it in the shops until the yellow SU coverdisk in 1991. *...

Re: DenOfGeek : The games that defined the Spectrum
It is definitely a good list, but if I was being pedantic, should Elite be on there, what with it being a BBC game. I think most of the others, with the obvious exceptions, were mostly Spectrum exclusives.

The page for Rally Cross ( https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/4 ... ally_Cross ) links to the Crash review of Rally Cross Simulator, a different game.
