Re: The Hobbit

Yes, the booklet was on the outside behind cellophane as the inside of the box contained a copy of the book.

You can see an example of a sealed copy here

Re: The best Speccy game by Bug-Byte: discussion

Ahhh, Turmoil! My very second Spectrum game! Except it stopped working after a few days and I had to return it. Unfortunately they had no other copies so I made do with Pitfall II instead. Rapscallion is a real forgotten gem. Written by Albert Ball of Jumping Jack fame, it feels like a more arcade v...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

Remember this is supposed to be open source when everythings done and dusted...meaning people can write their own cores. If you want sid and other features I'm sure at some point cores will be released for it. Sorry to be "moaning" again, but yes you're right. This was an Open Source project, the C...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

That one line from the Kickstarter Campaign appears to have been the biggest part of the delay. Yet other features that were touted at the start have been dropped or quietly forgotten - ULAPlus, 14MHz boost mode, SID chip support, Rex Next, the new Dizzy game, Nodes of Yesod. The team clearly have ...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

Honestly, with the updates from the past 9 months it feels like I’ve backed a new keyboard than a new Spectrum. Maybe they should rename it the ZX Spectrum Text. very good, sir! I went through some of the previous updates and highlighted some of the keyboard specific updates. These ones are f...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

It's not just the Right Cursor key that doesn't work reliably, it's quite a few composite key presses that are prone to failure as you can see from the picture and mentioned in the latest Update. They are going to try three different designs for the new contacts and hope that one of them does the j...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion

Jim Bagley made it really clear on the Facebook group that the Next on show at Play Expo was the only working prototype they had (which was rejected) I totally understand the issues of working as a remote team, but here are a couple of interesting Facebook posts from Jim Bagley and Mike Cadwallader,...

Sorcery+

So I was doing a bit of reading on Sorcery on here https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.php?cat=96&id=4650 and the entry says The compilation Now Games 3 contains an updated version of Sorcery ('Sorcery +'), with improved graphics and extra rooms. Now I know that Sorcery+ is heralded as a great Ams...
