Re: FUSE error: "Couldn't play sound"

I've had a similar problem on a Windows 10 laptop and could only fix it by right clicking on the loudspeaker icon on the taskbar and selecting "Troubleshoot sound problems" and eventually re-installing the current sound driver through the options in there It works :) Thank you textvoyage .

I don't have audiodg.exe service running but the stranger is when another app that uses sound (like an emulator or winamp) is running, FUSE starts fine without that error message.

Re: FUSE error: "Couldn't play sound"

Hi PeterJ Thanks for your help. This is something new, never happened before and I use FUSE for about 8 years. All other apps including other emulators like FUSE for Linux (under WSL) work perfectly with good sound. I didn't change my hardware. I don't know if this is relevant but before this happen...

FUSE error: "Couldn't play sound"

Recently when I run Fuse for Windows I always get this message: "Couldn't play sound" and the Sound Enabled Option on Options menu is unchecked. Then I check the Sound Enabled Option and I get sound but after a while I get the same error message and the sound is desabled again. I already u...

I played the CPC version and I liked it but don't love it.
But as I can see in the video, the Spectrum version seems to be much better and very promising.
I can hardly wait to play it :)

Yes. First a big black and white TV from 1986 to 1990 and then a color TV until 1996.

Re: Centauri Challenge - how to start?

I tried different emulators and different configurations (48K, 16K, 128K, 128k usr0, Timex 2048, etc) and like you I can't load the game.

I found this video and someone has the same problem:

Maybe the game wasn't correctly emulated.

Re: A usable version of Emlyn Hughes Arcade Quiz?

I tried waiting ages in Fuse with side B inserted after loading side A, it didn't work. I tried SpecEmu in 128 mode, it didn't work. I tried Spectaculator and... it did work! It's the only emulator I have that has no problem with it. I recall that Samurai Trilogy from Gremlin Graphics has always a ...

Re: A usable version of Emlyn Hughes Arcade Quiz?

Trying as hard as I can, I can't actually get to play Emlyn Hughes Arcade Quiz . I don't have a working physical Spectrum, so I usually emulate on a Windows PC, using Fuse. Yeap, I have the same problem when I try to load the game on FUSE. Use the Spectaculator Emulator and the game loads fine :)

Well, Slightly Magic from CodeMasters, beside the AY music, has a lot of new background graphics when loaded on a 128K. 128K images: https://i.postimg.cc/gwHN3WG4/128-01.png https://i.postimg.cc/r0ygJPmT/128-02.png 48K images: https://i.postimg.cc/VJM7LtTx/48-01.png https://i.postimg.cc/DWTxWZ38/48-...

Re: Sinclair Basic count seconds...

Hi there;

Try this:

Code: Select all

  10 POKE 23672,0
  20 LET n=PEEK (23672)
  30 IF n<50 THEN GOTO 20
In this case 50 means 1 second. Hope you find this usefull :)

Regards.

It's not a game, it's a demo but Sgt Pepper 5 from Sgt Pepper it's a good example of smooth animation and beeper music during the action :)

You've captured the Mel Croucher Computer Fun Line audio as an MP3, but you've labelled it Cosmic Chaos.

Cosmic Chaos appears to be a reader game, and that's missing from your ZIP file.

Dan Dare Dynamite Dan Ah, I should clarify - we're talking about games released in the Speccy's post-commercial period, so homebrew stuff after mid-1993 really. We did cover 'D' games from the commercial era in a poll, both games you mention were up for votes. Deathchase won it - see the results he...
