Re: Do you play your games on a physical Speccy or an emulator?

Both, depending of the situation. Usually I prefer to boot-up my +2A and play some cassettes but... who resist a 5 minutes Barbarian/Exploding Fist quick game? ;)

Re: FDD3000 version of Fuse has virus?

Virustotal shows one generic malware match only , and it usually means the .exe contains some compression similar to be found in malware, so I'll go with it is safe. Anyway, to be sure that your computer is not going to be compromised, you can always run it in an isolated virtual machine disconnect...

Re: Beginners Adventure

Los Pajaros de Bangkok was a very good detective-sque text adventure but it only was released in Spanish.

But if you don't mind to be a PC graphics aventure, Thimbleweed Park is a great adventure involving a murder case with Ron GIlbert as lead designer :)

Cheers

Re: Rogue like for Zx Spectrum

How about The Oracle's Cave? I think that's like a Rogue game, procedurally generated and the map revealed as you go along, but side-on rather than top-down. One of the best and very underrated ZX Spectrum games. The only caveat is the map generation takes some time -no surprise here- but the game ...

Re: Mister Kung Fu: A new Kung Fu Master game in progress!

Just downloaded, played and it's amazing the quality of the game :o Yes, the ZX-Dev is indeed a nice incentive, but in the past ten years we are having a lot of excellent games made for fans and not from commercial companies. Don't get me wrong: Ocean, Dinamic, Hewson and others made great games, bu...

I supposed I did all speccy 2018, or at least I hope with only two days to finish :? but for 2019 resolutions... - Play speccy games - Try to learn how to make better games - Play more speccy games - Make at least one game - Continue to play speccy games Well, looks like procrastination wins again :D

A (more unnecessarily complicated but fun) ZXBasic approach here: REM initialize screen PAPER 0 : BORDER 0 : INK 7 : CLS REM initialize array and variables; arrays starts at 0 but it can be changed DIM myarray(9) as UBYTE DIM y AS UBYTE REM loop to fill array several times until user is satisfied wi...

Re: Poll: Enduro Racer vs Out Run

The necessary tape multiload killed OutRun, but otherwise was a good port (and indeed the OST tape inclusion was awesome!)
Nevertheless, Enduro Racer was a very good port with AY music and just with one load we can play continuously a lot of time... so Enduro wins :)

Very nice little arcade game. I hadn't heard of 'Eyes' before; playing it reminds me a bit of Dingo. Your version is good fun. It seems rock-hard at first, but it doesn't take long before you're running rings around the eyes. It'd be interesting to see a version with smooth sprites. Ta for the game...

Any ideas on how to implement FZX in ZX-Basic? Sorry to bring up an old post and I hope you get a way to to that (at least I couldn't) What I do to edit customized fonts is to use the Font Editor that BorIDE provides. https://i.ibb.co/ydp8bd0/Capture.jpg Once you have the set of fonts you want, jus...

Right, but the only way to know is if dwinters18 paste here the contents of the BASIC loader.
dwinters18, can you do that?

O-EYES

Hi all I've just finished my last game: O-EYES, a ZX Spectrum port of the arcade game EYES. Don't know why but I like it to play some quick rounds, so I decided to make this version. Oh, and as you can see, I've used the ol' and cheap trick to print in the inlay an arcade screenshot, instead of an a...
