Re: The best Speccy game by ERE Informatique: vote

The only one I played BITD was Macadam Bumper and thinking that Pinball Wizard was better. Anyway, I've tried three other games on this list that I can understand how to play and here are my top three: 1. Painting Joe - a decent Amidar clone 2. Macadam Bumper - still not as good as Pinball Wizard 3....

1. Thanatos
2. Turbo Esprit
3. Harrier Attack

It was a tough choice between Harrier Attack and Scuba Dive for third place, but although Scuba Dive has more, err... depth to it, I find Harrier Attack to be slightly more fun to play.

1. Knight Tyme 128
2. Stormbringer 128
3. Finders Keepers

Knight Tyme shades it over Stormbringer by way of being able to move the ship and interact with the various planets. As much as I enjoy Finders Keepers I've always found the jumping awkward.

1. Dollars In The Dust 2. The Crystal Of Chantie 3. Terraform While The Crystal Of Chantie is the most technically impressive of the three, after all it is written using GAC, I enjoyed Dollars In The Dust the most. Dollars is a western themed adventure which has various bandits roaming around, which...

Re: The 20 games with a <= 10% rating from all three major ZX Spectrum magazines

I used to quite like The Boss (I owned the Peaksoft original) although I can understand why a slightly modified version released a few years later would get a poor review. However, I believe that had the original release been reviewed then it wouldn't be on this list. Los Angeles SWAT got awarded 26...

Re: The best Speccy game by Arrow: software

I had never played these before this week, so thanks PeteProdge to introducing me to yet more hidden goodies in the Spectrum's vast archive via your polls. Anyway, I felt that that Flight From The Dark just edged it for me, so that got my vote. Both games remind a bit of Valhalla presentation wise. ...

Re: What, in your eyes, is the worst games software house?

I would add Top Ten Software to that list. There was also a company called C-Tech, which I came across due to a thread on WOS where people reviewed games from a particular year. They existed from 1983-84 and were one of those companies that released unofficial versions of popular arcade games of the...

Planetfall by Argus Press Software, it was on their 30 Games compilation. It was simple but quite fun. The same compilation also had Stock Market on it.
