Re: Hervé Trisson, author of Dick Tracy

Next question: what proof is there that Hervé Trisson programmed Dick Tracy? I've scoured the instructions, inlay and had a quick mooch at my TZX from my copy of Wild Streets and can't find any reference to anyone involved in the production of the game. I don't have an original copy of Dick Tracy bu...

Re: Chit Chat forum?

The beginning of the decline of WoS can be traced directly to the addition of the chit-chat forum, so I'd rather avoid having one, thanks very much :D I've already liked this comment anyway but I figured I'd post as well because I wholeheartedly agree. Just seeing the thread title made my heart sin...

Re: SC Retro

If there was an alternative way of displaying the search results here on SC and/or more customisation then that'd be awesome! Try "advanced search" in SC homepage and select "Results layout: compact" :) Incidentally, I hope I've got the right end of the stick here and have understood what your plan...

Re: SC Retro

This sounds like a great idea! :) As much as I avoid posting on WOS any more, I did still use it up until it recently for searching through the archive as its old/classic layout was - for me - a lot quicker and, as you said, concentrated so much useful information at once. For example, if you did a ...

Re: Desert Rats 128k loading screen

That entry also highlights another issue - those scr files have a black border, and so are not being displayed with integer scaling, either in the main 2x image, or amongst the list of images further down the page supposedly at 1x. Looks like they are from really old days - feel free to capture new...

Re: New "special" issue of CRASH (with tribute to Jonathan Smith)

Sorry, I never really know who does what and tend to just see anything on SC as part of ZXDB directly and vice versa. I only tagged you because you'd mentioned it was now official earlier in the thread. It should be a magazine but PAPER really is misleading as presumably that implies that it was pri...

Re: New "special" issue of CRASH (with tribute to Jonathan Smith)

I'm seriously impressed with how much effort you've put into this to make it look so authentic even down to slight blurring of text near the gutter, and the content is brilliant as well. My only gripe would be that I felt the whole aspect of Lie actually responding to people on the letters page tota...

I have a full archive of the WoS forums, one I regularly keep up-to-date. So should Fogarty decide to take down WoS again, I'll make it available.
That's good to know :)

Re: New WoS and ZXDB

I just wish some people would pull their heads out of the sand once and for all and abandon WOS entirely. This latest stunt by Lee just shows what a plonker he really is. At least he's slowing the site down so much now with all his bloaty "improvements" that it may encourage others to seek out other...

Re: Cover artists

Boilerhouse by Front Runner (https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.php?cat=96&id=614) currently has the front of the instruction leaflet down as the inlay whereas the proper inlay has the name of the game on the spine and is one of those clamshell type affairs. The illustration is credited to Steve ...
