converting it from the PDS assembler format it is in Actually wrong assumption, the original code was not for PDS but was written for Mike Webb's Z80 Assembler which he developed for the Tatung Einstein and which was apparently used by many other developers... ...is that possibly still available ou...

Re: 'New' (er, old) Tim Follin music, retrieved from Tatung Einstein disks

In terms of music for the Spectrum there doesn't look to be much beyond sound effects and a music editor (which currently crashes) but there are some blocks of data that may be some music which just needs to be coupled with an appropriate player. However I got one of the sources compiled by converti...

Re: Yandex Retro Games Battle v3

If anyone wants to give 7.7.7.7 a fair play through but finds the choice of control keys completely bonkers, then I've put together a .POK file to change them to the more familiar Q,A,O,P and M. This can be applied via an emulator such as Spectaculator, InkSpector, Fuse, Spin, etc. by simply draggin...

Re: Programmers Development System (Dominion and some other sources)

I've got the 'Steg the Slug' map editor up and running from the PDS source files.... https://i.postimg.cc/vTrtztGQ/steg-map-editor.png https://www.dropbox.com/s/hsyguc621vhufdp/Steg_Map_Editor.tap?dl=0 You build the levels using big blocks, which you can construct from smaller tiles. So for instance...

Re: How hard would it be to fix Forgotten Worlds?

Instead you can use the ZX-Blockeditor to merge the 2 TZX files together... 1) Open ZX-Blockeditor and drag in "ForgottenWorlds128KAutofireMod.tzx". 2) Go to Tools->Import File and select "Forgotten Worlds (1989)(US Gold)(128k).tzx" (or whatever the game file is named), a dialog ...

Re: How hard would it be to fix Forgotten Worlds?

Give this a try - it's an old school crack... Load it first, then playback the FW128 TZX (Alkatraz) - all the decryption is worked out (the border changes colour each time a decrypter is executed), the game will load and @Adrian_Singh's autofire pokes are applied The crack is 99% code that Graham '...

Re: How hard would it be to fix Forgotten Worlds?

I know POK files work. I'm asking if it's possible to edit the TZX so we don't have to manually apply the POK file every time. Unfortunately the game is protected by the Alcatraz Protection system so what is contained within the main data block of the TZX file is in fact a continuous flow of data b...

@druellan Yes no problem whatsoever with doing that.

Re: Entry screen layout issue

Maybe the last column could benefit from an additional class with the CSS property "overflow-wrap: break-word" ? This way if content doesn't naturally have a place to break at, it will break at the point at which it reaches the edge of the container so not overflow but automatically wrap t...

Re: How hard would it be to fix Forgotten Worlds?

StanVanman I had a look at the code and the control routine is very compact and complex in the way it has been set up in order to automatically handle 4 different types of fixed control configurations (QAOP+Space, Sinclair 1, Sinclair 2 and Kempston) and the ability to process the controls of 2 pla...

Re: The Shuttle

Doing a bit of digging.... Line 4 of the basic loader has the command LOAD a$CODE which loads either the keys version ("SHUTTLE") or Kempston ("SHUTTLEK") version. The code is loaded from 23296 to 32767 overwriting the existing basic program in the process... This is the basic pr...

Re: Inkspector 2.0.3 released

If you select “Addressable Memory” from the dropdown when saving memory, you should be able to save up to 64K as the Z80 currently sees it (i.e. using the currently paged in ROM and RAM). My query was really about being able to save a section of RAM from a page that isn't the one currently paged in...

It's good to know which features people are finding useful and why. Inky The ability to view and track multiple memory areas and effortlessly switch the RAM page being viewed or disassembled is extremely useful!! Great for inspecting and debugging 128K stuff. Is there a reason though why when Savin...

It's not a bug as such, but one of the ricocheting bullets got semi-stuck bouncing between the same opposing corners. Is that a 'feature' of the arcade game too by can't chance? Yes in the aracde game the ball can sometimes end up bouncing back and forth between opposing corners in close proximity,...

Just to update this thread... After many many hard spent hours it's finally completed and available to download from here https://t.co/82KLCDSsOZ Note it's primarily for the 128K Spectrum but will play on the 48K (but with a much more muted experience!) https://pbs.twimg.com/media/D9DSsjTXUAAa1Hd.jp...
