Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion
That's looking quite smooth - I haven't seen it at normal speed before though. Would I be right in thinking that 7MHz would be the sweet spot for boosting 2D games?

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion
I just have to accept I may never get to play JSW at 28MHz. Can the acceleration actually help in 2D games? Just my stupid sense of humour.. I expect it would be unplayable at that speed - JSW doesn't need a speed boost but the Freescape games will certainly benefit. I don't see that the CPU clock ...

Re: Specchums and the coronavirus.
I'm a type 1 Diabetic, we're only just behind heart conditions on the co-morbidity scale for C19 deaths, and I've already had one near death experience due to diabetes already this year. So I'm pretty nervous. Would someone please loan me their Next so I can realise my dream of playing JSW at 28MHz ...

Yup, still waiting for my Accelerated. It would have been nice to have it for the apocalypse, but I'd prefer everyone stayed safe.

I believe the right honourable gentleman should be made aware that the normal accepted form is “FPGA” and that this industry accepted practice should be respected in this place. I can offer references if that would help the right honourable gent...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion
So some Accelerated Nexts are now apparently arriving on people's doorsteps according to Kickstarter comments. (Without so much as a shipping notification). That's a bit worrying if true. I've been checking my spam but have nothing yet. I've avoided contacting them to date, but just emailed the inf...

I seem to recall assigning the colours each a number and writing it out that way.

I remember this well, a very clever main menu text render routine as well as some fantastic gameplay. You can now check how it is done , since the source code is available online You can also see a presentation about Extruder development . I remember your development thread being one of the first t...

Great stuff Pete, wish I was a bit nearer as I'd certainly be up for attending. Glad to find another MAME user that owns all the ROMS legally, like I do. I mean, what are the chances..?

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Discussion
This is very random question.... I'm 99.9% sure I backed the Next, and I get all the backer emails, but when I log in it's not listed as one of my backed projects. I'm sure it's me going slowly mad, but could someone tell me when the funds were taken from their account and what the description of t...

Did you hear that 'Atari' are now planning a hotel based on the 'Atari' experience? Lots and lots of black/brown veneer, hot tubs and the smell of weed in the foyer.. mmmmm.
