Re: im trying to understand what the graphics codes in inpaws mean

It's been a while since I looked at this, but the graphics section in InPaws is made up of 4 separate elements, all concatenated together and comma-delimited: The number of images in the game. The size of each image in bytes. The attributes of each image (so a single number for each image based on v...

Re: PawMac (Paw Map and Convert)

They were quite clever in terms of how code from the Quill and PAWs systems ended up being compatible... Tim Gilberts says he can't understand why they never did an official conversion tool back in the day. I guess it was simply a lack of time. Yeah, I never really understood why they went to the t...

Re: PawMac (Paw Map and Convert)

John Wilson says that you always were a clever little sod, by the way. He's really, really impressed with your tool. :) Ha Ha! Praise from "The Guv'nor!" Life goal achieved. :D I've checked the manuals and I think it's all good on the flag front. Quill only allocated 11-29 for users to us...

Re: PawMac (Paw Map and Convert)

Anyway, the tool looks cool... especially the updated inPAWs... which I'm particularly interested in... Would it be eventually possible to increase its functionality by using the space in the additional pages? (Obviously there are issues regarding those, and differences in the space available in th...

Re: PawMac (Paw Map and Convert)

Yes - that's exactly what it was! Just wish that I'd read your reply 2 hours ago! :x Is the code generated missing the LISTOBJ in process 0? There's a few things that The Quill does by default that you have to tell PAW to do, which I'd forgotten about. LISTOBJ being one, ABILITY x x to set any maxim...

Re: PawMac (Paw Map and Convert)

 Aaaaannnnd inevitably, there's a bug. Everything seems fine in the PAW version, except that any objects in the location aren't displayed on screen. You can still pick them up and drop them though. :?

So - don't use it yet. Hopefully, it's something minor.

PawMac (Paw Map and Convert)

This all started because I wanted to convert one of my old Quilled adventures to run in PAW, without having to do a load of typing. So, PawMac will take a text file produced by UnQuill and convert it so it can be uploaded into InPaws and from there, create a .TAP file that can be loaded into ...

Re: Little bugs in the database 2

Edit: I've updated the information at CASA too. (Always nice to hear from fellow Zenobi adventure authors... John Wilson is still around... and he's recently been programming new games too! The updated version of Deek's Deeds sounds interesting by the way... There is still a lot of interest in old ...

Re: Little bugs in the database 2

The three text adventures ascribed to the publisher Bass-On were not published by them, er, me. Bass-On was just a pen name I used when writing games. My games were only ever published by Zenobi. I'm assuming it was actually Zenobi for Mark Cantrell's Project Nova too, but cannot say for certain. re...

Paste or SendKeys compatibility

Hi, Are there any emulators that let you, for example, copy some text in Windows and then let you paste it into the emulator as if you've typed it in on the Speccy keyboard? Alternatively, are are there any that allow you to use SendKeys in VB/VBA/VBScript to mimic this? I'm using Spectaculator, whi...

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hello! About 28 years ago, I wrote a couple of text adventures for the Spectrum that John Wilson was kind enough to publish. Feeling a little nostalgic a couple of weeks ago, I dug my old +3 out of the garage, and also began to have a play around with Spectaculator on my PC. As can happen with these...
