ZXnibbs' silly questions thread
Hi I wasn’t sure where to post these thoughts of mine so please admin please move where this fits best. On reddit, for example within the r/Plex subreddit there is a weekly post called “Plex's Moronic Mondays' No Stupid Questions” Thread where any type of questions can be asked without fear of a fal...

ZX Spectrum gfx as animated gifs [continued]
My ever flowing urge to find as many ZX Spectrum graphics that I remember but as animated .gifs continues as I still LOVE one of my monitors showing em off on a screensaver. There are just so many amazing main characters, enemies and general screen animations that the mind boggles! You all may be aw...

Re: Spectrum namedrops...
I used to live in Anerley, near Crystal Palace. I just remember that back then I found out that Matthew Smith lived in nearby Penge, so every time I went shopping there I kept my eyes peeled right back incase of meeting Mr Smith!! Never did :( I did see him at the Croydon Fairfield Halls Retro Show ...

Rod Bowkett and Steve Crow
Rod Bowkett, author of two of my back-in-the-day favourite Spectrum platformers Dynamite Dan I & II. First game I found really difficult but very slick for the time, with fantastic audio and graphics. https://i.postimg.cc/0yyR9xxM/Dynamite-Dan-1985-Rod-Bowkett-Mirrorsoft.gif https://i.postimg.cc...

Re: How to record loading screen$ into an animated GIF (possible?)
'Somehow' I've managed to get a Mac program called PlayOnMac to work and successfully ran bmp2scr exp_2.11a.exe to convert a .scr to a loading screen that I can then load and convert to a gif (using ZXSP)  Only problem is, I think I'm going about this wrong. I thought I needed to conver...

Re: How to record loading screen$ into an animated GIF (possible?)
Slowly chipping away at creating a whole bunch of these using ZXSP's gif creation tool. VERY cool  Just a quick question.. (didn't want to start another topic to add clutter) When I load a .tzx using ZXSP, for example Saboteur (1986) , the emulator loads it automatically and skips the loadi...

Re: How to record loading screen$ into an animated GIF (possible?)
Both BMP2SCR and ZX-Paintbrush will do that. Get hold of BMP2SCR EXP 2.11a , and load the .SCR into it. Select the Save tab, then "Save as TZX" under "Conversion and Re-saving". Whatever the first 8 characters of the .SCR filename are, that'll be what appears in the Bytes: heade...

Re: How to record loading screen$ into an animated GIF (possible?)
I think it’s pretty straightforward. You just hit Command-Option-P to start and stop your recordings. (Make sure the “Animated border in Gif movies” option is selected in the File menu.) You can always add/change keyboard shortcuts for any menu item in any app in macOS. Go to System Preferences > K...

Re: How to record loading screen$ into an animated GIF (possible?)
I'm sorry I cannot help on the Window's side of things :| zxsp does work on my Mac, although the activation of recording of the screen in Gif format isn't the easiest to follow, but I'm VERY glad it does work, as I'm feeling I'm actually getting somewhere. I then remove frames with preview, and resa...

Re: How to record loading screen$ into an animated GIF (possible?)
Had a lot of fun this afternoon converting various loading screen$ to .Gif so thanks again :) (not using Photoshop anymore cause it's expensive.. so quickest, easiest way to 'loop' a gif?) https://i.imgur.com/7p4vAJn.gif https://i.imgur.com/ppy08fE.gif https://i.imgur.com/oCn3yon.gif I was wondering...

How to record loading screen$ into an animated GIF (possible?)
Sorry this may be a strange request so please move to a more suitable place. :geek: What would be the best method to convert the loading of a Spectrum loading screen into the animated .Gif format? I'm interested in using the animated Gif file format to use in screensavers that use the format. Curre...
