Just been playing this - it goes to show that you just need a simple concept executed well to make a really fun game. Have been using snapshots but have fallen at the "Tightrope" level (4 I think?). Then again, I'm a bit crap at games... Will probably need to start resorting to some 'mid-level' snap...

Meteor Storm was supposed to have speech but it was just some garbled white noise. "Meteor alert..! Meteor alert..!" I liked the speech and the screechy sound effects in that game. You might as well stick with character-graphics (UDGs) for now. Not every game needs pixel-position sprites; that only leads to colour clash. I'd probably agree with this, just give whatever you like a go. Printing with RST 16 (or 10 in hex) will still be extremely fast compared to BASIC. You can a...

Congrats on an impressive feat, especially loading it up on original hardware.

I never quite realised the effort you had to make to get to Elite. I knew it took a while but didn't twig you had to shoot quite that many ships.
