Re: BASIC: Find out if an Interface 1 is attached.

I thought it was just paged in as and when ? I don't have (at this moment) time to check :( I did think oddly enough about the Sweevo Editor (yes I know) as the RobCandy tips (tape) had some kind of microdrive only program on it for saving to that, I think there was some kind of check for IF1/Microd...

Re: Maximum possible tape loading speed ?

I think this is going to vary wildly depending on the source / quality of the audio erm 'data' supplied. If you're using analogue or CD or digital .wav/.mp3 etc etc , compared to a wobbly tape. I guess what I am saying here is merely it will vary! It will load (here) at 4000baud though. I have a mod...

Re: BASIC: Find out if an Interface 1 is attached.

I would of thought so too but I've not seen anything posted. I wonder although tis a pain perhaps to do a FOR/NEXT loop and print out all the values of the system variables (do a CLEAR then RUN) and then repeat with an IF1 attached, and then compare the results. Obviously under emulation for conveni...

Re: Just got a ZX Printer, recommended precautions?

This 3D printing business is scary stuff!

I can see in a decade or two's time you'll be able to print your own 3D printer ;) / C5 ( :D ) / or perhaps a new Speccy :D

Re: BASIC: Find out if an Interface 1 is attached.

Additional bit of info: I think on a real machine you get the 'Program Finished' error almost straight away if there are no Microdrive's actually connected. Otherwise you get a Microdrive not present if you have one or more and there's no cart in the first one, I think. :) I do recall the former mes...

Re: BASIC: Find out if an Interface 1 is attached.

I either asked about this or meant to ask and forgot. Assuming the IF1 is vaguely alive you can try this for now although it is not what you wanted I know: Do a NEW or reset then just enter RUN as the first direct command. Don't type anything else in first. If it just comes back as "0 OK" , its not ...

Re: The Quest for the Sacred Flame of Hestia

Thank you. :) I was thinking only a few weeks ago about 'new' Quilled games, as these days generally speaking those wanting to do this would use PAWS or perhaps GAC. Despite its 'age' and the (difficult to me at least) use of Illustrator to get a combi/split screen game it still has a -lot- to offer...

Re: Oric Atmos missing key wanted.

I keep my fingers crossed for an original keycap. Who knows... maybe there is a replacement waiting for me in some place! What I am asking is keep this in your mind and ask your retro-friends! :) Are you in the UK ? :) Only asking as if someone does find 'something' and wants to post it to y...

Re: Oric Atmos missing key wanted.

It is really beautiful yes. :) Please keep me in your mind if you find anything! Thank you I was thinking more you might be able to locate a keytop yourself from said machine perhaps ? Not sure where you are though (country) , do not pay too much for a single keytop however! It is a shame this was ...

Re: Oric Atmos missing key wanted.

Yes and no, but it comes attached with the rest of the machine :( On a more helpful note: There are a couple of designs of BBC Micro/BBC Master keytops and I think one of these might fit properly, but I don't have a 'B' keyboard here to confirm the fitment options. Its about the right 'colour shade'...
