Re: ZX-Spectrum-inspired comedy show in Birmingham, Wed 6th Dec

I wasn't sure at first but seeing those pics it looks really good. Let me know if she tours further north! The next scheduled show is, um, Cheltenham in Gloucestershire (yeah, not exactly further north, quite the opposite). Although this looks to be even better, as it's a full-on retrogaming comedy...

Re: ZX-Spectrum-inspired comedy show in Birmingham, Wed 6th Dec

This took place last night and was utterly fantastic. I had never seen the show in full before... The ZX Spectrum dominated it, and there were mentions of Daley Thompson's Decathlon; A Day In The Life; Highlander; Manic Miner; and the dreaded Paradise Cafe, among many others. It's accessible enough ...

Re: The inevitable worst game ever thread

I just remembered Super Cycle as a terrible game. The collision detection is... well ... not there. The game disintegrates into a turn left turn right until you get bored. I struggled to off-load this title earlier this year. "Any more realistic and you'd need insurance to ride it" boasted the adve...

Re: Games news from a parallel universe

As expected, Ocean got the rights to publish the official Russia 2018 world cup game for the ZX Spectrum. It will be called ' International Match Day - Russia 2018 edition '. There are rumours that Jon Ritman & Chris Clarke will be again in charge of the team of 300 programmers, graphic designers, ...

Re: Games news from a parallel universe

Important news has arrived by a white raven telling us about the official Game Of Thrones arcade game! It's bound to be a winner and we hope that Macsen Software proven track record of TV to computer conversions will not let us down. Be you a Lannister, a Stark, a trader from Bravos or that bird wi...

Games news from a parallel universe

Well, that was bizarre. Just finished my Sunday dinner and then all of a sudden, a wormhole appeared and a different version of myself popped out and handed me a copy of this month's Your Sinclair. He didn't have much time to explain it to me, but the gist of it is, in his dimension, the ZX Spectrum...

Software Projects's Hysteria advert is wrong on many levels

Taken from page 33 of Your Sinclair's Nov 1987 issue, this advert for Software Projects's Hysteria is highly questionable. I mean, look at the expression on the naked hero's face, with his hands on hips and the lower half of his body is - thankfully - obscured. I think he's gained himself a pleasura...

If there was one more level...

Fantasy gaming wishes time. Again. If you could bolt on another level to some classic Spectrum games... Target Renegade by Imagine As we know it: You've defeated the boss in the games room, having back-kicked with all your might. That's that over and done with, the crime syndicate is finished? The e...
