Re: Black Mirror: Bandersnatch

I know the Imagine Software inspiration is very obvious, but there are some subtle things in there.

I'm fairly certain the ugly brutalist tower in Croydon was the real-life home of Probe Software for a while. My grandfather used to live in a nearby town and we'd pop through Croydon and see that.

Re: Out Run - where the Spectrum fell short

I think you should visit a recent poll about this game to see how much love we have about it... ;) Ah yes, I voted for Out Run in it! Even though Enduro Racer is faster and more faithful to its arcade version. I'm unsurprised at being in the minority. I think I'll have to include ZX Spectrum Enduro...

Re: Out Run - where the Spectrum fell short

Out Run is likely my favourite arcade game, so I'm really looking forward to this. I think I've said before that I do have fond memories of the Spectrum version - at least, fonder than others here seem to have - but it might be because I had a 128, and Out Run was circa 50% about the music. 😉 Altho...

Hi, @PeteProdge , glad to see you again! :)
Yeah, it's good to be back. The Spectrum's still the best computer and watching Bandersnatch underlined that!

Out Run - where the Spectrum fell short

Yeah, I've been away for a bit, as I've been working on comedy and a new retrogaming thing. It's nearing completion. By 'it', I mean my new YouTube channel, Reheated Pixels , which has me looking at old computer/console/hand-held games. I'm kicking off with a look at an in-depth look at Out Run, and...

Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with T: discussion

Thanks for continuing this A-Z vote in my absence, I'm sorry I've been away for so long, but glad to see someone take on the mantle. I hope Target Renegade won. (I'm still going through unread topics, so I'll find out in a bit.)

Re: Was Hannah Smith real?

I'm missing a 'who?' option in the poll... Me too :) But I can confirm that some "girls" in Speccy industry were not real. Check for example "Sonja Knight" ;) https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/index.php?cat=999&label_id=13575 And yes, it also happened and still happens quite often in magazines that s...
