Re: Your top-5 sports games

Premier League (SU megatape 15) Nigel Mansell's Grand Prix Match Point Supersoccer Peter Shilton's Handball Maradonna So I forgot Xeno, and unforgivably, Bobsleigh. That certainly needs redressing: Bobsleigh Xeno Premier League (SU megatape 15) Nigel Mansell's Grand Prix Match Point Bobsleigh is pr...

Re: What makes you continue your Spectrum interest?

I spent a lot of time reading and re-reading Sinclair User magazines, reading about the games, and having only a fraction of those titles available in South Africa. So great titles passed me by. Wanted lists unfulfilled. Most of my gaming came from Multiface 1 copies passed from friend-to-friend, so...

I'm hoping that ZXDB stuff will earn it's own group in this forum so we can propose additions and features, and get more people involved.

Re: World of Spectrum....

By the time he finally revealed ZXDB wouldn't be used (not even the same IDs), On the topic of IDs, is there any appetite to add a WoS ID field to the entries table in ZXDB? Initially it would be identical to the existing "ZXDB ID" field, but when Fogarty (or his team) then branches off and uses a ...

Re: Installing ZXDB on your local computer

You should be able to install either MySQL or MariaDB (which might be a better option) on Windows. It will run as a service on your Windows machine, and your SQL Client (SqlYog) should be able to connect to the server via localhost -- so no need for any physical network. Back when I was using Window...

Re: Brataccas/Bandersnatch, Imagine, Denton Designs link cache

One of the projects on my never-ending to-do list is to create a Wikipedia-like site about Spectrum games and the developers/publishers - citing resources. Since the explosion in interest in retro, and projects like the Spectrum Next pulling our game developers into the light, and people still inter...

If you're interested in the Bandersnatch saga, here's a dump of relevant information: Thanks for the extra links and resources, Rorthron . Ahh Stuart Fotheringham was active on comp.sys.sinclair too. Fab, didn't know that. I've been trawling through his Eurogamer comments (stoomonster), since he po...

Brataccas/Bandersnatch, Imagine, Denton Designs link cache

Just discovered this directory of archived pages: http://www.brataccas.com/arch/indexes/ Looks to be copies of web pages elsewhere (I recognise the Crash Online pages, Sinclair User Magazine Online pages and YSRnRy pages in there), and seems to cover the collapse of Imagine, the path of Bandersnatch...

Re: Renegade or Target Renegade?

As much as I love Target Renegade and would list it higher than Renegade in my all time favourites, Renegade is just a much better, tighter game, and tougher to complete. Renegade, like Flying Shark, is an improvement on the original arcade.
