Brataccas/Bandersnatch, Imagine, Denton Designs link cache

Just discovered this directory of archived pages: http://www.brataccas.com/arch/indexes/ Looks to be copies of web pages elsewhere (I recognise the Crash Online pages, Sinclair User Magazine Online pages and YSRnRy pages in there), and seems to cover the collapse of Imagine, the path of Bandersnatch...

Re: Renegade or Target Renegade?

As much as I love Target Renegade and would list it higher than Renegade in my all time favourites, Renegade is just a much better, tighter game, and tougher to complete. Renegade, like Flying Shark, is an improvement on the original arcade.

Re: Interview with Bo Jangeborg

I'll ask the creator of the video if he is still in contact with Bo and if he'll allow SC to host Fairlight. Bo Jangeborg mentioned in the video, unfortunately, that he doesn't hold the rights to Fairlight, that's still Softek/The Edge (there's a part about Polish developers wanting to do Fairlight...

Re: What happened to ZXAce?

So... a long while ago I bookmarked www.zxace.com, because it hosted PDFs of Sinclair User magazine -- and I was methodically working my way through those. I got to about issue 55 or 56, when the site/hosting seemed to die. www.zxace.com now resolves to a 404. So no more SU PDFs! Did I miss somethi...

Re: The best classic Speccy game beginning with B: vote

Torn between Batman: Caped Crusader and Bobby Bearing. I can't vote for Ritman's Batman because I know Head over Heels is significantly better. Bobby gets the nod, because it's not just isometric, but realtime physics in an isometric rendering: Curvispace.

Re: World of Spectrum....

I think Einar, again, has nailed it perfectly when it comes to genuine inclusivity. ZXDB contains links to ZX Spectrum Reviews (currently offline, hopefully temporary), the TipShop, CASA (for adventure solutions). That's bringing together various community resources. I hope this is just the low-hang...

Re: Fastest Divide by 6

Something from left-field: Since 6 is half-way between 8 and 4, the result of dividing by 6 should be halfway between dividing by 4 and 8. How about an algorithm like:

* Divide the number by 4 (>>2)
* Divide the number by 8 (>>3)
* Add the two shifted results together
* Divide this sum by 2 (>>1)

Re: Spectrum namedrops...

I worked for Lovefilm, which was acquired by Amazon along with an independent video streaming development company called PushButton. Amazon merged these two companies to form Amazon Development Centre London (in 2012), and the head of PushButton became our managing director. Someone called Paula Byr...

Re: Have you ever completed a text adventure?

Not many adventures made it as far as Pretoria back in the day. I remember playing a text adventure -- I thought it was Jack the Ripper or Dracula, it had Gothic type of font, where it (or maybe a specific part of it) -- started at a railway station, and you had to cross the bridge to the other plat...
