Re: ZX-VGA-JOY and M30 Bluetooth controller

Might be easier to buy a modern dedicated Kempston interface and put it before the VGA-JOY (I can test this setup tomorrow if you would like?)

Re: New Visual Studio assembler / debugger

I created a dev environment myself a while back which is IDE agnostic.

I use VS Code myself, although I (obviously) used Visual Studio back when I was .NET developer.

Re: Serial Number Database

Happy to take any feedback or suggestions on board.

Please don't get too excited or hold your breath - I'm notoriously flaky when it comes to these types of projects and it literally requires me to smash it out in a few sittings before I become bored of them!

Re: Serial Number Database

I built that serial database one afternoon in the pub about five years ago, and ever since then I've been meaning to update it so that it's a bit more user-friendly and people can add their own serial. Maybe this will give me the impetus to spend another afternoon in the pub doing it! In the meantim...

Re: Spaghetti football?!?

Another thought: maybe it was a working title for US Gold's Italia 90 . That's plausible although that title was released by then or very shortly afterwards as it is reviewed in July 1990 mags. Speaking of which, none of the Speccy mags around then mention it, so it's more likely than not to be a h...

Awesome work - thank you! I've been meaning to do this myself so I am glad that someone better has now done so!

Re: 24 Hours of Dizzy

I love Dizzy. Great memories of my youth figuring through the games with my cousin, whom I never see anymore.

I'll be watching when I can, but somehow my weekends are busier than my midweeks.

Re: Forcing 128 startup in 48 mode

Plugging in a DivMMC interface or similar is a simple and non-invasive way of doing it. If you're worried about the extra space used, you can probably get an extension cable and wrap it up and over inside the machine.

Re: Problem with ZXBaremulator + Recreated ZX

PS It's a shame the author became disillusioned with it, as it would have been great to see this project develop, and definitely to see it come out for the Pi4 and Pi400.

Re: Problem with ZXBaremulator + Recreated ZX

Only just saw these replies. I've given it another go with a powerful 2A PSU, and with a wireless dongle connect, with and without the batteries inside the Recreated keyboard, but without success. It looks like this particular way of playing Speccy just ins't going to work :-(

Re: Instead of a membrane...

I've used a couple, and they are quite satisfying to use, just a little fiddly to fit (ideally you need to solder boards on to the end of the ribbon cables, as they are just bare wires).

Can't argue with the price though, when you consider they're only 50% pricier than a standard membrane.

Re: Problem with ZXBaremulator + Recreated ZX

I've just tried with my own on a Pi 3B and get the same result. I'm guessing the RS just requires too much power (it also works fine on another computer). Are you able to test it with a powered USB hub? I don't have one to hand but may be able to at the weekend.

Re: ZXwordle

Sorry, only just saw this - nice work on the research. I would posit that you wouldn't need a whole dictionary, half the words uncompressed would fit in the space left by an efficiently coded version. Searching that ought to be fairly quick then. If you did want to go the whole hog, you could have a...

Re: ZXwordle

Hi all, I have now (finally) released it - I hope you enjoy it! https://adamainsworth.co.uk/portfolio/zx-wordle/ Please let me know if you have any feedback, but bear in mind this is my first ever release, and was done in my spare time over the last week or so. PS I'm gutted that I was beaten to it ...

Thanks very much for the feedback. I did briefly change them to red but then the code changed and it would have been extra effort to do that!!

I will implement it instead of being lazy

Re: ZXwordle

Hi all, thank you very much for the interest. I had a brainwave about Wordle last week and spent the weekend coding it. I've been working very hard on a couple of other projects recentyl, so it was nice to take a break. The thing is, I don't really know Z80 and wanted to get it out quickly while it ...

Re: Introduce yourself!

Hi all, amazingly, I only just registered for the site, despite knowing about it since launch. It's looking really good, so big congrats to all involved - definitely continuing on the good work from WoS, which seems to have fallen by the wayside. Anyway, hello from Exeter! For you that don't know me...
