Re: Pride Month is here. Show me LGBTQ+-themed ZX Spectrum games!
Red Heat https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/4072/ZX-Spectrum/Red_Heat has some gay innuendos. All the first level we can see naked, seen from the top, Arnold fighting with equally naked hordes of guys. Spectrum monochrome graphics don't do the justice to the absurdity of it so let me post an Amig...

Film Maker, an unknown animation utlity
I have an interesting MIA Polish program which I'll be uploading to ZXDB soon. I don't remember the exact details but I believe it was uploaded once to one of Spectrum Facebook groups. It seems to be some tool to create animations. There seems to be a version in English and in Polish. I don't know h...

Re: Pride Month is here. Show me LGBTQ+-themed ZX Spectrum games!
I believe the most gayish thing you are going to get from the 80s Spectrum games is this :) https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/SCRtoImage.php?SCR=pub/sinclair/screens/load/h/scr/Hysteria.scr&border=0 https://archive.org/download/World_of_Spectrum_June_2017_Mirror/World%20of%20Spectrum%20June%202017...

Yep, there was one, Russian bound Thanks, I didn't know about it. But it looks like nothing came out of it. There is a longer article here, that you can read with Google Translate: https://idpixel.ru/news/2134-pingvini-gonki-arkada-antarctic-adventure-pojavitsja-na-zx-spectrum/ They admit there tha...

Re: Antarctic Adventure
It's actually a very classic 19th century waltz. Such stuff usually sounds good on Speccy:The audio is easily convertible to Spectrum
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Les_Patineurs_(waltz)
The title actually means "Ice skaters" so it's highly relevant

Re: Antarctic Adventure
Nice game. I knew it before. It has a sequel called Penguin Adventure which is more advanced, varied and happening not only in Antarctica: I would suggest making a remake of this sequel if anyone has a wish :) It is certainly possible on Spectrum, I just wonder how much colour clash it would involve...

Bonnie and Clyde is a great funny game while Bomb Jack II unfortunately isn't. It's a disappointent, especially when compared to first Bomb Jack.

Re: Does anyone know anything about DDT, the Italian Pssst?
I can't find that DDT but it seems simply to be an Italian release of Pssst, maybe translated to Italian. Most probably an unofficial one.
It was very common in Italy to release cracked games under changed titles.

@Einar Saukas One more question, what is the current standard for the titles of Russian programs? Translation to English? Transliteration? Original title in Russian alphabet?

If they are not a compilation (e.g. you or someone just happened to save them together like that) Well, I don't know the exact history of that file. I just found in some Russian website. But for 99% it isn't any "true" compilation. You need to remember that in Russia and other countries f...

In the past I submitted some MIAs, first to WOS, then here. Now I haven't done it for a quite long time but I still have some stuff gathering dust on my hard drive and I decided I'll try to deal with it and upload it here. I hope I won't lose motivation quickly :) I'd like to start with a disk conta...

Yes, it looks like a very rare Spanish uMIA.

Re: Enhanced ZX Speccy (Alike system?)
Doesn’t that pretty much sum up the NEXT? I would say that Next is something at the same level as Amiga, not modern computers which was suggested by the original poster. He said for example: Display - 1920x1080x16 bit I have a very limited knowledge of Next but it seems to be beyond its capabilities.

If you want to discuss some pokes for the games just do it in the games forum. Also if you want to submit some pokes, the traditional place for it is Tipshop: https://www.the-tipshop.co.uk/ Recently it became a bit quiet there but it's not abandoned and you can make things hectic there again anytime...

Re: Games with good use of push scrolling?
I had to check what you mean by push scrolling. At first I believed it's about using a series of PUSH commands in assembler. But now I know: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/push-scrolling I don't recall many games using it, but speaking of more recent games, Spectrum version of Castlevania uses it qu...

I remember seeing that game when it appeared for the first time. It certainly looked interesting but I couldn't make a head or tail out of it. Andre Leao I believe it wasn't released commercially so the instruction probably doesn't exist. But maybe you or some other people had contact with the autho...

Yes, it's an obvious plagiarism in the given photo. I wouldn't be so afraid about Zx Spectrum works however. I believe that we are such a small niche that nobody gives a damn about us. Re: Why didn't the Spectrum have many Roguelikes?
Like others, I also believed that roguelikes became somehow popular only in the 90s when Spectrum was already commercially dead. And I'm sure I learnt this term only in the 90s, it was completely foerign to me in the 80s. I remember I had a mate who loved them. I could never understand him, why anyb...

Re: Will Spectaculator ever get a new version?
I believe that many years ago Jonathan was working on a new version of Spectaculator. If I remember correcly he has even shown some screenshots. Shame that he didn't finish it and probably lost motivation long ago. Spectaculator mostly does what I need but a better debugger (conditional breakpoints ...
