Re: What tune is this?

To my ears, the singer from OMD did have a lot of vibrato with a loose pitch. Maybe I overdid it though. I'll fix it though on my next revision!

Love the site! Fantastic. Looks great! Would love your feedback and suggestions though. A few humble suggestions off the top of my head… 1. On the main banner image, maybe you could add a bunch of game covers to the right side, to show what the site is all about and make it more exciting? The list o...

Hello, my pink friend  Gee, how could I not have heard of Gee Bee before? Looks like fun. Pete Prodge did a nice summary of all the Breakout clones on the Speccy last year. He's amazing at collecting data and facts together, one of the best and most prolific thread starters here! There are one ...

RIP (many many years ago) to the German foreman from Auf Wiedersehen who not only played Mr. Bronson in Grange Hill but also Adolf in Indiana Jones and the last crusade :( I think he spoke fluent German though and I think he was a German teacher in Grange Hill? Such an unforgettable character. I st...

Games you played the most with friends?

Which multiplayer games got loaded up the most with mates/family? What do you think are the best 'crowd-pleasers'? For my two main pals and me, our go-to multi-player game was Chaos. Guaranteed fun! https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/SCRtoImage.php?SCR=pub/sinclair/screens/load/c/scr/Chaos.scr&bord...

I can't help but wonder if the original version of Jet Set Willy is copyrighted, given that it includes copyrighted music from 1964's Fiddler On The Roof?

If you ever fancy having a go at Pac-Land (a huge undertaking), I've already done arcade-accurate sprites, music and logo. I was hoping they could be added to Ralf's mod but it never happened.

Re: Manic Miner/Jet Set Willy no longer available

Dozens of Miner Willy spinoff games and derivative works have been made while there was no copyright problem, so presumably you can still play these games since they were made legally.

Re: Several missing titles (2024)

OK well that's up to you guys to decide, then. FYI this version of Magicland Dizzy has new extra music, plus "An Easter egg was added, as well as something else". This kind of modification might be painful to classify as it sits on the border between a hack, and new content.

Re: Several missing titles (2024)

This would probably count as a mod, rather than a new title. Well, I mentioned it because these 'mods' are already in the database so to me it seemed logical to include that also: Dizzy Extended Edition 2021 Treasure Island Dizzy - Extended Edition 2023 Treasure Island Dizzy - Classic_Edition 2023 ...

Wizwords Oh, when I first saw the word "book" I assumed it was just black and white text inside. I can now see it's something far more exciting: full-colour and graphical; really quite beautiful. This is way more awesome than I'd first imagined when I heard "book". So, when you'...

One thing I loved about your vid is how you can edit sprites and see the room update in real time. This strongly appeals to me. I like an "immediate" interface where there are no barriers slowing down the creative process. In fact, I like the idea of building the game graphically from with...

A somewhat creaky title when compared with its superior contemporary Robin of the Wood, Treasure Island was still easily the best of the 10 bundled games in my 1986 Speccy starter pack and the one I played most. I even found myself mapping it out on paper. Q) Are Al's reviews entertaining? A) They A...

Re: New Game Creator

Absolutely fantastic! Thanks so much for doing this! AGD is great, but when making a game it's good to have options, to fit your style or project. I'd like to take the plunge someday and make a game, so it will be interesting to see what the options are. I'm not sure if AGD can do 'big' sprites but ...

Cheez26 I'd be curious to know how you "discovered" the Speccy over there in the US? Just random YouTube videos or something? Also what kind of games background have you had outside the 8-bit world? Do you have a platform of choice? Also, just a heads-up that this is a very friendly place...
