Cheez, you have some disturbing tastes in music! If you haven't seen it, you'll love the Quentin Smirhes YouTube channel - a delicious blend of 1970s retro, horror and comedy.

Re: Beepola vs. VT2.5
I think the beeper is amazing for sound effects, and no games machine should be without one. Though when it comes to music, I vastly prefer AY to beeper, which is why I've never even tried Beepola yet, though would like to sometime, especially after your recommendation, Cheez. Where do you DL Beepol...

We've already got it, ported in 2014 by Trefi and Tiboh: https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/30073 :) Blimey, you're right! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TP171sPJw8 Also worth mentioning another quirky modern platform game conversion: "Nothing" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtksG-w...

Re: Guardian article on the best video games magazines
I think Keith Stuart has compiled an excellent list here, with a nice mix of machines, and no shortage of reference to the 8-bit era. I'm personally happy that YS made top ten :dance Interesting to note that the 18 magazines in this list represents less than 1 in 5 of the total British videogames pu...

Re: Honestly, this is more of an idea to myself, but what if IWBTG was on the Speccy?
Had a quick look at a video of IWBTG and it looks fun. Doesn't look easy to me, looks hard, maybe even cruel. Though not as cruel as "World's Hardest Game" - another awesome title that would be fun to convert to the Speccy. I think the most distinctive feature of IWBTG is the tiny little s...

Maybe I'm a bit old but beyond the Speccy, my only knowledge of YouTube videogame reviewers is AVGN I think twentysomethings these days seem to have a general knowledge of YouTube celebrities that we don't. Certainly I don't!

Re: How do I make AY music in Furnace Tracker and export it to PT3 for AGD?
There's a video review of v2.5 here . It's Russian but you can skip through for a quick visual summary of the nice features of this version. I do need some templates and compatible samples to try out before I take a crack at making my own. Templates aren't needed, but it's definitely useful to have ...

Re: How do I make AY music in Furnace Tracker and export it to PT3 for AGD?
So, I found this old thing that somebody was working on Fascinating! Running this is a bit over my head, but could this actually convert a game music file into a vortex tracker? I didn't even think that was possible. As for which tracker, I've tinkered with Deflemask and I know Furnace is the ultim...

To my ears, the singer from OMD did have a lot of vibrato with a loose pitch. Maybe I overdid it though. I'll fix it though on my next revision!
